Me and my family were staying in a campsite near by to the pub, we had called the night before to ask whether booking was necessary for a big family as there was no information or menu anywhere online. We were told on the phone that no booking was necessary but to arrive around 4pm to get tables as they had a band on that evening and were expecting it to get quite busy which we completely understood. We arrived at 4pm the next day to a very hostile lady being quite rude to my family member, she’s was very funny about us getting tables and even had a go at my auntie for opening and umbrella on the table outside (it was 29° outside). When the rest of the family arrived we went inside to get drink and one of the boys had their t shirt off, he was asked to please put his t shirt back on while ordering drinks which he did without hesitation. He ordered his drink and went back outside but re entered the bar a few minutes later to get something else only to find that the same lady ( I’m guessing a member of staff/ owner) was quite rudely and loudly berating him for not having a T shirt on while in the pub. This made him extremely uncomfortable. Multiple other comments were made about my family that were extremely insulting. Considering this is supposed to be a ‘Family Pub' this behaviour is absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend bringing large families here as it seems like it’s to much of an inconvenience for them. These people were berating my brother for not wearing a t shirt on a very hot day but felt it was completely appropriate to have a newborn baby sat at the bar with parents, to me that’s double standards. The atmosphere was awful and it’s quite clear they have their cliques within the establishment. They will never receive custom from us EVER AGAIN and I truly hope they never treat any other...
