Last week I placed a pick up order from Costa so I could get home and we could have lunch. Got asked to review the service. Being an experienced mystery shopper, I gave them a full constructive version, with plenty of stuff that honestly could have been better..... It seems the information got through to the member of staff who was on duty alone today...got there and my order was in two neat bags, so much easier to carry. The staff member INSISTED on taking the drinks and escorting me to the car..... Then proceed to advise me that in future if I wanted a door to door service I should use Uber eats or just eat. That he wasn't even allowed to leave the shop as he was on his own... I thanked him, explained I was on my way home and didn't find getting home to then have to get up to answer the door wasn't what I as the customer wanted to do. I asked him to stop talking.... As he got to the car, a little dog trotted over, possibly sent from Heaven to delay me even more? He is STILL babbling on about how he wasn't supposed to leave the shop unattended... I HADN'T EVEN ASKED HIM TO! I suggested he stop digging his hole even deeper. He still didn't take the hint... He was still muttering as he walked back to the shop... Then I heard him say I shouldn't come back because he would refuse to serve me. Not a problem sunshine... His response was to tell me...
Read moreWe ended up two weeks ago in this Costa with some friends and kids on a Sunday for a late afternoon coffee. Closing time was 4.30 pm and we arrived at 4. From the first sights of the Staffs we understood immediately we were not the welcome...we immediately noticed that the staff was busy in the preparation of the ‘imminent’ closure. A disgusting bucket with dirty water and a broom was left in front of the display making difficult visualize the croissants and pastries! One of the kids unintentionally hit the broom which fell off...another bad sight from the staff. When was the time to order the lady on the till mechanically input the items without asking clarification on size or items. When the order came in there was lots of errors. My wife got the coffee of a different size. I ordered an hazelnut hot chocolate and I got an hazelnut latte! When I made clear to the barista that this was not what I ordered I had another bad sight and he mouned something. We had our drinks and we left the place punctually for the closing time at 4.30 all very upset about the staff attitude! Sorry but that’s the worst customer experience I had ever I in a Costa Cofee!!! Lots to improve about the staff...
Read moreI arrived at 11:30 . I went to wait for my car mot , brought work and was going to buy lunch but it was too early due to being 11:30. I also do not drink tea or coffee so I had a water while I waited till I was hungry.
The manager maro came up and asked me to leave the coffee shop after 20 minutes as it was paying customers and I had to buy something to stay. I advised I don’t drink tea or coffee and I was going to buy lunch but at 11:45 it was too early. He advised other paying customers did not have a sit so I had 15 minutes more left.
I advised I would be leaving as he was asking me to leave. He advised he didn’t ask me to leave and simply following Costa coffee policy and I could stay 15 more minutes if I did not buy something.
I advise he was asking me to leave , and I would go and buy my lunch somewhere else.
He asked me infront of everyone and was very loud about it. He made it very clear how he felt and it was embarrassing. He did not ask to speak to me quietly to one side or deal with it professionally.
I would not recommend. When I asked for the policy , he said they were in the website and I would have to look at it...
