Lovely range of refreshments from cakes to hot lunces. Also a Good range of hot and cold drinks. Service was quick even given how busy it was. Staff very friendly.

Lovely atmosphere but absolutely appalling coffee. The one in my photo is supposed to be a cappuccino. No flat whites, no macchiato. Cakes look good though.

Perfectly lovely place to stop for some coffee / cake after a lovely walk around the grounds and/or house. Albeit expensive.

Popped in for lunch, the staff (including the chef) were very kind and friendly but the food was incredibly poor quality. We came as a family and we actually appreciate a small menu when executed well, but there was so much waste, and what probably started out as decent ingredients was reduced to a bland puddle with highly processed vegan spreads (on a sausage dish!) and tasteless translucent gravy. It was truly terrible in a kind of comedy sketch way. It would be much more cost effective to use fewer but good quality ingredients. They do jacket potatoes well, so why not make that a speciality and get a bit inspired with different fillings? The cakes also looked pretty dry, seems the theme of the cafe is wasteful quantity over quality, and I really hope they manage to turn it around because it could be a charming...

What a mess. Came here for lunch the other day, was squeezed in like a sardine, when my supposed Christmas Dinner arrived it was dry and clearly shop bought (tasted like processed meat) in a roll. 2 sprouts 2 carrots, 2 tiny potatoes, blinding. Got the impression they couldn’t handle the footfall and just scrimped on the amounts, then I tried the food, oh dear. What a massive shame as last year wasn’t too bad. Never again unfortunately, could have got a better meal in a tin from a low...

A very good cafe with a wide range of meals from soups and sandwiches to main meals. It can get very busy at peak times but the staff always work very hard to ensure that any queues are kept to a minimum and that tables are cleared quickly. There is also additional outdoor seating.

The cafe is very popular for Sunday lunches.

On our last visit we had a delicious celeriac soup with crusty bread. Most welcome indeed on a cold winter's day after a walk around...
