The Half Moon — Restaurant in Mole Valley

We were at Half Moon this afternoon to celebrate my late Mum ,who use to live in Charlwood many years ago! Alan & his team did us very proud ! There was 22 of us dinning & the service was superb! We had the Sunday Roasts..... Pork,Beef, Chicken & even Lamb on the menu, with all the traditional trimmings! The children had ,burgers,spaghetti bolognaise, chicken, sausage & chips all of a very high quality.... Deserts were mouth watering, Homemade crumbles,sticky toffee, devine chocolate brownie all with generous servings of custard or ice-cream.... Then there was the cheese board well that beat me this afternoon....all was delicious 😋 I would like to thank Alan & his team for helping to make this afternoon a very special occasion ..... Certainly a warm welcoming place...

I have been to the Half Moon twice in the last two days once for an impromtu lunch out with my husband and baby daughter then for dinner the next eve with my parents. The food and service were excellent - really tasty homemade food and the chips are perfect! I am a customer service professional with many years experince in various customer facing roles including hospitality and it was so refreshing to go somewhere and be genuinely well looked after by a staff member who cares about his job and does it so well. So often I am dissapointed and frustrated when I go out for dinner. The young lad working there is a real credit to this charming village local and really impressed me which is not easy to do! We have passed this real proper pub many times but had never gone in before. Finally popped in on Saturday night for a couple of beers, it was what a pub should be, a place that does serves beer and also does food rather than the other way round.

The staff were friendly and our dog was allowed in, we did not eat but saw food coming out and empty plates going back.

The pub would be ideal as a stop for people stuck in the plastic hotels the night before they fly from Gatwick, they just need to know it is there.

So its not posh, it is a good old fashioned pub tucked away in leafy Surrey if you can find it l am sure you can spend a couple of pleasant...
