My family went there on Father's day and the service was not great. We ordered the meals for all the adults including a "fish goujon with chips" which was under the adults menu. My wife then asked if they had a children's menu and we ordered the fish fingers for her. We additionally ordered a particular quiche for my mother.
Well after we pay we are told by the stand where you can pick up some of the food that they didn't have any of that quiche even though it was on the sign. So we had to get her something else. Then the food took a long time to come and my wife never received her smoothy so we had to chase this up. Then all the food came out apart from my wifes. She chased this up but apparently they didn't include this in our order.
The ridiculous thing is they kept asking if we ordered an adult or a childs fish fingers. On the menu they aren't named the same thing they are fish goujons for the adults and fish fingers for the children's so we were not confused as my wife and I ordered together (in order to pick up all the drinks).
They then made my wifes order but we had to pay for it (as it apparently had not been included in the original order but they don't have receipts so could not verify this) my wife had to chase up a discount (they gave 10% but my wife said she already got this on the other order due to us having membership so only got another 10%).
All in all it was just extremely poorly managed and everyone that worked there was pretty...
Read moreI visited Mr Eddy’s Tea Room at Exbury Gardens on a rainy afternoon to get some lunch whilst visiting the gardens. It’s run by Little Kitchen Co, and having been to their bistro in Winchester I was hopeful it would be as good.
There were some good elements to the lunch, and there was also some bad, overall it was more good than bad. The tea room has plenty of seating but it is very noisy as it’s in an old barn space. It’s fine for a quick lunch, but it was lacking in atmosphere.
For lunch I had a quiche and salad. The quiche was nice, nothing special but did the job. However, the side salad was very basic, and even more hard to swallow when I saw we were charged over £4.00 for a small side salad which was some lettuce, 1 tomato and some very basic coleslaw.
We shared a cream tea later on in the afternoon, which was very nice. The scone was huge, and had plenty of cream and jam. The hot drinks were well made and overall, I was very happy with the afternoon treats.
Staff were friendly but the setup felt a bit inefficient, so it did take a little while to get served. Overall, it was a bit of a mixed bag, but it was a fairly...
Read moreWas looking forward to having coffee and cake.... cake was self-service which meant that everybody had to touch the cover and tongs/slice!!!! The set up for service/payment made a long queue, even though it wasn't very busy, and you couldn't view the choice of cakes without queuing. Also they only took card/contactless payment, which is fine but there wasn't any signage letting you know. (The giftshop did!) Now for the main reasons I've given 2* A chair and highchair were in the way of a fire exit and extinguisher, our table had a wad of serviettes wedged under the base, the trays were worse for wear and most weren't clean, forks were scattered on the counter by the till waiting to be cleaned. I could go on but just hope that the management will step up, take note and sort out all the issues, big and small. Really disappointed is an...
