A delightful place to sit & eat with friends/family or you would feel totally safe alone! An excellent menu, well balanced nutritionally at affordable prices. Compliments to the chef & team. The staff here are the most accommodating, friendliest, "smiley" people I have ever come across. They really do appreciate their regulars and new faces are most definitely welcomed with a smile and a heart of affection. It's a gem, a delight. "A warm hug"🤗 I popped in on Mother's Day afternoon for a pot of tea. The staff were tired after a busy session. But, they were smiling through. £4 for a pot of "proper" tea for 2! Where can you get that these days with a smile? The facilities are extremely clean, everything you require to freshen up. The Garden Nursery is quaint, plenty of spring plants in. The artefacts & vintage artefacts, old sinks, tin baths are most excellent to buy. Inside, the shop is well stocked with intriguing bits & bobs, antiques, collectables and plenty to catch the eye. I have been here a few times for lunch and it has always been good. This time we visited for brunch and honestly I will never go there for brunch again. I ordered the smashed avocado and eggs on toast- the avocado was rock hard and was cubed rather than smashed (and not at all tasty),the eggs were overcooked and the toast wasn't buttered. My Dad had the mushroom omelette. Well, the omelette was the smallest I have ever seen, and 2 mushrooms were just sitting on top rather than sliced and incorporated into the omelette. We had had a traumatic morning as my mum had just died so I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to upset my Dad more. I would give this a zero rating if I could. We arrived signed in and sat down at table after waiting I had to ask for someone to take my order. After finally ordering and being asked to pay before the food arrived we then waited about 45 minutes, two other tables were served their food who had ordered after us. The waitress came over and informed us that our order hadn't gone through. She asked us if we wanted to reorder or have a refund. I asked for a refund only for her to come back and ask me how much the order was for as they didn't know. Lucky enough I had asked for a recipt when I paid, otherwise not sure how they would have known how much to refund me. Will not be returning as very poor...
