AVOID AVOID AVOID. First the good points, the rooms are fine, although the wifi didn't work despite logging on correctly, the shower was damaged/wouldn't stay up, there were small flies everywhere (wife suffered bites) - its a a nice quiet location. Problems started on arrival, I had emailed before to say I was attending a nearby wedding, please could they provide somewhere to change on arrival 12pm, even if room understandably not fully ready - they said yes, will clean my room 1st - great, thanks. On arrival Carina , a dark hired woman with all the charm and Customer Service of a Gestapo Officer said there had been no request for early check in/changing, all without any eye contact... " go change in the public toilet and come back at 3pm"....hmmmm....when told the truth there ensued an extraordinary 20 minute search...not for a solution for the customer who was now late for the wedding but a witch-hunt to find the employee responsible for not informing them of customer request. When pointing out that this was not the best customer service a thug called Dean arrived to inform the customer that criticism would not be tolerated, squaring up to said customer. All this time, the kind and polite Housekeeper was concerned , telling me she would be fired by management if she let me in the room for 5 minutes to change - she also said my room was a complete mess , unmade bed etc as they had allowed previous guests a very late check out...hmmm.. Finally the Manager, Velvet arrived, a moment of common sense broke out and she ushered me to my room, which strangely was completely clean inc bathroom. Off I went to the wedding, returning late that night, slept ok. next morning got wife to check out to avoid further contact with the lovely Carina....got home to a message on booking dot com accusing me of "abuse", that they have a zero tolerance policy on that and that I would not be welcome again. As if I would return :) - what they have actually is a zero tolerance policy on CRITICISM, especially when they make an error like not passing on a customer request and then spend the next 20 minutes NOT trying to rectifying it but looking who they can blame. Mistakes happen of course, but its the subsequent inability to look for the quickest solution for the agues that is unacceptable - as for making up blatant lies about abuse, well that shows the Management's...
Read moreUnique restraunt with quality accomodation whelechair accessable, extraordinary food, good parking. Service is friendly a bit over controlled for me, but after a time that restricted sense lifts and hardly affect the overall experience. I guess I don't like been managed. 😉 I had the pork loin this dish was exquisite, unusually for this meat you are asked to nominate how you like it well cooked, medium or less well cooked, I chose medium and I was not disappointed. Crispy bits were served along side vegetables and a nice device. Desert for me was treakle tart with liqrish flavour ice cream,, the ice-cream didn't hit the spot but the tart was right there yummy. Breakfast selection continental with wonderful crosants, jams good coffee and tea. Options, a cooked breakfast wonderful bacon and unique Cumberland soussage two eggs and the trimmings. The bedroom was rather large great queen size bed and the most wonderingly comfortable duvet, mattress and snuggldy promising pillows. A unique opportunity to indulge. Will we be back yes? There's spome magnificent natural parklands to explore this way, we saw the horses, the forest and moorland we hadn't realised was to be part of the...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights in one of the rooms with a hot tub, luckily we decided to go for the hot tub as my wife had an accident just before our trip & was using crutches & these rooms are easily accessible, sadly she couldnt use the hot tub but i could 😅
The Three Lions is a lovely venue, plenty of parking, lovely grounds around the buildings with plenty of outside seating, our room was nice, clean & tidy & the small private decking area with seating & a hot tub was lovely to be out in & listen to the birds. We had breakfast & dinner both days at The Three Lions & the food was amazing, i couldnt fault any of it, well presented & just cooked perfectly, the staff were all professional, friendly & helpful, always welcoming & making sure we had everything we needed & that we were happy with the food.
We were very happy with our stay at The Three Lions & we are already planning another visit to The New Forest next year & we will definitely be considering staying at The Three Lions again, thank you to all the staff for making our stay...
