Sunday roast as a solo...Ordering and paying at the bar great if there's another person with you to hold your table, I suggest solos are given a reserved notice for their table to avoid another customer clearing the table and taking it while ordering a sweet! Its hard enough going alone, then having to speak to another customer to inform them at their point of ordering the table number was taken creating awkwardness. Roast overall was ok but potatoes possibly cooked in oil and left to cool, then reheated in a microwave, the oil/fat had been absorbed throughout creating an oily soft mess and were vile inside and out. Not a hint of crispiness! Two members of staff asked if my meal was ok, I told them about the potatoes, there was a distinct lack of interest, so why ask? Gravy should be in a separate jug as there was too much but wasn't unpleasant. Really disappointed in customer service, the best part of a roast is meat (which was nice) and potatoes. £18 for a disappointing meal and...

Went in Sunday afternoon at 230 pm half hour before kitchen closed. Both meals and plates lukewarm.likewise gravy boat just warm.runner beans limp and over cooked.complsined and offered free pud. Both lamb and turkey well cooked although not a man sized meal.not enough potatoes Feel should have been offered replacement not money off bill or free puds. Probably had the last food available.!! Bar service good and beer fine. Music mid afternoon good. However gents toilets dirty smears rear of door from bar. Skirtings mould and dirty and not cleaned for some time ...sink dirty and taps badly need replacement overall needs full deep clean even if still scruffy.likewise inside window frames in bar backing onto the car park dirty/mould. Appreciate new owners may be going to repaint but in the meantime no excuse for lack of cleanliness. Overall not going back or recommending this pub unless they can improve a lot...

Had been recently for a ploughman’s with my friend, very nice and value for money. My daughter asked where I would like to go for my birthday meal, I suggested the Travellers Rest we just turned up as didn’t think I would need to book on a Monday, as it was we didn’t, but it was busier than I expected. Will book next time. The menu suited all of us, we all had something different and the quality of all our dishes was fantastic. I had the steak and ale pie with chunky chips and seasonal vegetables. I was so impressed I asked to see the chef. I will definitely be recommending the Travellers Rest...

Visited today following the pubs reopening, very impressed with the interior decoration, the warm welcome from the staff and the choice of drinks and food on offer. Had a couple of sandwiches and fries which were delicious and arrived quickly. Had a good look at the evening menu which looked very appealing. I wish the new owners all the very best with their venture, on the strength of today's visit I'd say they are doing good things and deserve to succeed. If you live locally I urge you to give it a try, you'll not be disappointed!

We found 'The Traveller's Rest' by accident and so pleased we stopped for a meal. The pub has a great atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent and as the evening grew chilly, and we were on the patio, we were invited to finish our meal inside (even our dog was welcome). A gem of a pub with a lovely view of the countryside!

Good venue tucked well out of the way, decent music in the beer garden which is well let lit for the darker evenings make it a good year-round venue with weather permitting. Food is reasonably priced for bike nights and there is plenty of motorcycle parking space too.
