Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Newcastle-under-Lyme

We called here after we had been on a dog walk and a drive out. We knew there was outside seating where we could sit with our dogs, having been here previously. However, we were absolutely shocked and disgusted at the state of the outdoor seating area. Everywhere, including the tables and the seats, were full of green moulds. It was everywhere ! The drinks were of the usual good quality. But the outdoor area needs seriously deep cleaning. The experience we had was spoilt by this as we love to sit outside with our dogs. I really wish I had taken photos but I didn't have my phone with me...

Apparently staff like to close up early. Says open until 8pm, however arrive at 7.30pm door is locked staff inside cleaning down and rope across the drive thru. Understand maybe preventing customers from sitting down passed a certain time but I was happy to take away. In fact, that was the purpose of my flying visit. If management are curious as to why there are no sales passed a certain time, perhaps the possible reason. I'd have thought they want the custom post downturn in Covid Sales but...

me and 6mates walk into costa put our stuff down. and we didn’t even sit down and got told “if ur not ordering anything leave NOW!! But when other people walked in they let them sit down without questioning them. we all felt violated and offended. I THINK HIS NAME IS ZACK. DO NOT COME HERE ITS A JOKE !!!! AND THE I PAID £5 for a sandwich. but there was this one lady who was very nice and asked if we where to cold or to hot and offered to open the door thx to the lady...
