Had lunch here with my friend and my daughter. We got there at 12 pm, and the majority of the tables were reserved. We eventually managed to find one in the conservatory. The first thing we both commented on was the sticky floor. We ordered meals from the 2 meals for £11.75 menu, I had the fish and chips with garden peas, and my friend had the lasagne with garlic bread. My daughter had the under 5s kids meal for £4.49 which she chose 2 fish fingers, garlic bread, and beans, and make your own sundae and a lemonade. Food arrived promptly and was piping hot. The fish was beautifully cooked, and the batter wasn't greasy. We all commented on how nice the meals were. A service check back was carried out. The pub also had pictures and colouring in crayons for children. We had no faults about the food. What let it down was all the tables being reserved and the sticky floor.

First time trying here today. I ordered fish & chips my partner ordered surf & turf. When the food came out fish looked nice but when eating it was sloppy inside it was like eating mush. Also found hair on my plate along with long stringy things from the fish. My partners steak, which we upgraded to 8oz was just pure fat no meat on at all. Couldn’t speak to staff as no one came to us to ask if meal was ok, we also waited 15/20 mins after finishing for plates to clear so we could talk to them, but they didn’t clear our table either. Will not be returning.

I'd like to thank who ever is running this lovely pub. Clearly have the customers at the heart. Very reasonably priced, which is hard to come by in these times. But the kids meal! No skimping here, lovely varied plate of food and all for £1 with an adult meal. Absolutely amazing value and so thoughtful for struggling families. Everything from drinks to food is reasonable on price meaning the pub is inclusive to all. Welldone ☺️ mom of a kid that went to bed with a full tummy ☺️ also staff and kitchen accommodating to food intolerances 👍

I go here quite frequently because it is near where I live. Whenever I go, it is always busy. The food reflects the prices which are inexpensive. The menu offers typical pub food, such as burgers, fish and chips, curry, chilli, scampi and chips. The sizzler meals come on a metal, handleless skillet placed on a board and it literally is still sizzling when it arrives at the table. This time I had the scampi. It was scampi and chips on a plate, no salad or veg but that is fine by me. It was tasty enough.

Food orders are not taken at the table. You have to go to the bar to order your food.

If you want sauces, you go and help yourself to the sachets on a table by the door.

The staff behind the bar and the waiting on staff are friendly and efficient. However, there never seems enough staff behind the bar, so there are always people waiting there. (Hence the four star rating for service)

The atmosphere is that of a busy family pub. Early evening, there are families with children, but it quietens down towards half eight when families are starting to leave and people come in just for drinks.

A friendly,...

The pre booked table for 8 was not ready when we artived on time and we had to wait whilst the staff member vacated other dinners from our table and we were left standing around whilst they did this. The queues at the bar were 20 minutes at least waiting with mostly 1 person serving at the bar. 1 of the party had ordered no salsa sauce on burger. The first burger had the sauce on it so had to be returned. By the time his meal returned everyone else had finished eating. We ordered desserts. After over 50 minutes and asking twice when we would get desserts a staff member came and said the apple crumble was not available and we would need to go back into the queue to request a different pudding. He would not accept a request for a pudding at the table. I declined this as the queue I had already been in twice and waited at least 20 to 30 minutes each time. I asked for a refund of all deserts and we left. This is the worse experience we have had and it spoilt the birthday celebrations. It was clear there wasn't enough staff in the...

First time being here since I was a teenager . I went with my uncle and husband. I was pleasantly surprised. Although at 12 o clock all pensioners go at the same time . The service was really friendly. However when the food came which we waited about 20 minutes if not longer but like i say all went in at the same time . Food didn't come out at the same time . I ordered steak medium . Reasonably priced I had it with peppercorn sauce. The steak came more rare but was very tough I ate it , but would not order it that way . My husband ordered the ultimate burger he says it was very nice . My uncle order gammon . Mine and my husbands food came out and my uncle had to wait at least 4/5 minutes for his which we waited until he had his . We all had desert again mine came and the others had to wait at least 5 minutes for these. I would go here again as the food was reasonably priced and quite nice . But just need to make sure food is being delivered at...
