I took my partner on Saturday as it was a lovely Saturday afternoon so we sat outside and we both were taken back by the views. It was my first time ever of using the venue and it will be my last I’m afraid to say. We sat on the table next to the fox gloves and the love arch just to the side of the American trailer. My first incidence was that we were told there was no flatbread to go with the main meal and it wasn’t late in the day to have ran out, so stock hadn’t been ordered from the previous day, we changed our meal to another which did arrive some time later, to add to this my knife was dirty so I asked for it to be changed, the cutlery was taken away and my food was sitting on the table as I was still waiting for new/clean cutlery even tho the outside member of staff who took my cutlery in the first place kept walking by and did notice until a few minutes later when we asked for the cutlery. Once it arrived we noticed that the member of staff had a not so pleasant odour about him, yes it was a hot day but surly you yourself or another member of staff would could tell smell it too and say something then a quick spray would be needed and at no point did any member of staff come over to ask if everything was ok with the meal. We had 2 drinks each, one before and one whilst having the meal upon finishing the meal the empty plates were taken and there was no asking if we would like desert which I did enquire at the beginning when taking the meal order. The waiter in a not so polite manner walked over to us with the card machine and said I’m afraid we need payment we hadn’t finished our second drink at this point, so i paid the bill didn’t get no receipt, upon finishing our drinks I noticed a rat in the shrub bed which put me right off, I didn’t tell my partner what I’d just seen or she’d have freaked out big time. So our first experience wasn’t very good at all and it looks and could be a lovely...
Read moreThe Gresley Arms is a highly recommended pub by myself and my family. Me and my family visit here on a weekly basis and we really enjoy it.
Fantastic views, delicious food and puddings catered to what you would like, a fabulous selection of food for adults and children at fantastic prices.
Many selection of alcohol, soft drinks and even hot drinks are available.
The food has different times that are served and you also can have 2 meals for £12! The menus are amazing, different selection of foods for adults and children including puddings! The food is always cooked to perfection and when you order your food it comes roughly 15 minutes after your order.
The view from the Gresley arms are amazing that you can see from inside the pub when your sitting by the windows, or you can enjoy the sunshine of sitting outside in their beer garden.
I highly recommend this pub, clean and hygienic place with 3 different parts of the pub also included. You can enjoy your meal in a quiet area with music calmly in the background. The staff that work at the Gresley arms are superb, very helpful and are always hands on to give you the best service. The managers are very helpful and make you feel welcome at every arrival. The managers are well mannered and will always make sure their customers get the...
Read moreI find it telling that the poor reviews of The Gresley Arms always receive a sarcastic or defensive response rather than showing understanding or remedial action. This is quite possibly one of the worst establishments that I have had the displeasure of visiting. My family and I arrived at the dull and dingy Gresley Arms pub and were met with unhelpful and unfriendly members of staff who seemingly have no concept of good customer service. We settled into a table that was unclean and sticky and had to request that someone clean the table for us. Whilst waiting at the bar, a female member of staff pushed past me as she was delivering food to a table without apology and I was then scoffed at by the dull man at the bar when I ordered my drink. After I had paid, I was then informed that they do not serve food off the menu on Mondays for reasons unknown. We finished our drinks quickly as we were hungry and there is only so much sunlight in the eyes that people can take whilst sitting in an incredibly outdated and dreary looking pub. If the attitude of the members of staff at the Gresley Arms is anything to go by then I’m sure they will be pleased to know that I shall not be returning and I look forward to a salty response rather than taking on...
