RAJ BARI RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Staff no where to been seen sat in restaurant for 10 mins had to nock on kitchen door to find someone . Asked if the meat thali takeaway was the same to sit in as the take away was told yes !! Usually feed family of 4 on the takeaway . Was brought a plate with a table spoon of masala and a table spoon of madras and table spoon of rice for 3 people . Asked for drinks the server went out the back round to Tesco for a bottle of coke to pour 3 glasses that charged £7.50 for half a bottle of coke from round the corner . Asked why we where told the meal would be the same as the takeaway and was less than half the amount told that’s how it is when sit in . Asked why he said it would be the same then like we asked when we came in just shrugged shoulders . Place empty all the time . Better of shutting restaurant and just being a takeaway although clay over is a million times better that is steps away...

Been moved back to Newcastle for over 3 years now and been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. Went with my family for my birthday. The food was great. Fresh, flavoursome and the spices well balanced . The restaurant had about 20 people per night it ( it was a Wednesday night). Their service was a little bit slow at times and one or two drinks never made it to the table but the chap serving was obviously very busy ( and we were not dying of thirst) so no need to push the matter.Total bill for 6 with drinks £230. Not everyone had starters ( two I think). They Charge for pompodoms, I only mention that because some restaurants don’t ( well in the Midlands they sometimes come free). Would I go back, absolutely. After trying to phone for half an hour I eventually got through somebody answered and then put me on hold for 2 minutes the food arrived one-and-a-half hours later and it was lukewarm I ordered a garlic naan bread with cheese well done with extra garlic it was the size of a tea plate barely any garlic and nemic cheese had not even melted I hat to reheat everything garlic rice was nice curry was ok but not as hot as stated in the menu and £2.50 for delivery was steep as I live less than a mile away with this being a new take away I thought I would give it a go but never again I will stick to my normal Indian takeaway very...
