A great drive by cafe off the highest standard. Warm welcome and a lovely area for dinning. We had breakfast there and there are gluten free options apart from toast, but sausages, beans and hash browns all gluten free. Food is well priced and excellent we both really enjoyed the food and everything was clean and fresh. Toilets were good and clean and without any issues. The entrance is very welcoming as are the staff and its a great dinner for dogs and children to relax. Definitely be back its a great stop off for travellers and locals looking for a great lunch or afternoon tea or coffee. Open everyday too so don't miss the opportunity of this great Dinner.

Lovely cafe just off the A399 above Combe Martin. Plenty of parking. Seating inside where it was nice and cool and outside if you like the sunshine. Breakfasts, lunches, hot and cold drinks. Cakes baked daily. Weekly specials board. Dog friendly inside and out. Toilets Highchairs for small children

On a weekend break away, not far from this lovely little cafe. Visited twice during our stay and the food was incredible each time. I'm not usually a breakfast person but I'd go there for one every weekend if I could!

Absolutely disgusted with the place. 5 of us sat down and recognised early that they were busy with minimal staff. Took them some time to bring over the menus which we could live with. A few minutes later, a table of 7 arrived and their order was taken immediately, with no recognition of us. We let this go and were happy to wait a little longer. As the 30 minute mark of waiting approached, I took it upon myself to go to the bar and ask if somebody would take our order. The young lady behind the counter did not even acknowledge me and was clearly overwhelmed with how much she was having to do, thus I waited patiently before asking her. After a couple of minutes she still hadn’t acknowledged me so I said ‘excuse me, I understand you are busy, but is somebody going to take our order?’ She replied, ‘somebody brought over your menus didn’t they?’ I said ‘yes, but nobody has since been back to take our order, and another table arrived after us and had their order taken instantly’. She said that somebody would come over and take our order, so I said thank you. Then a colleague of hers came over and without any question, started hammering accusations of disrespect towards another member of staff, stating that she suffers from anxiety and that we made her cry. I argued my side of the story as that is utterly disgraceful. The attitude from the member of staff that came over was unacceptable and therefore we got up and left without hesitation. It was supposed to be the last thing we did after a wonderful week here on holiday, but now it has left an incredibly sour note on our last day. Would not recommend....

We stopped here by chance on a Sunday morning on our way back from a camping weekend at the start of August so apologies for the late review.

It is a nice big, open, light barn conversion type building with plenty of parking and it was busy, a lot of whom were clearly local so a very good sign.

As there were 5 of us we used 2 of the 3 tables where the servery counter and till is and could see just how busy the staff were. The waitresses taking the orders were a steady stream handing in drinks orders and collecting trays of drinks whilst the bell announcing "ready meals" in the kitchen kept tolling like a harbour bell. It just didn't stop.

The lady at the till said there would be a delay and quite frankly we didn't mind. The food we saw looked well worth the wait and explained why the place was so busy.

When our meals arrived they were gorgeous, generous portions and the kids, 7 and 10 and normally picky, got stuck in and didn't say a word.

The drinks were great and at just over ÂŁ50 to overstuff the 5 of us in preparation for a 6 hour drive was value for money.

Well worth adding to your plans for Cornwall but be prepared to wait, it is well worth it.

My hats off to the staff for their hard work and politely dealing with some rude, entitled idiots who thought that the standard "wait to be served" system didn't apply to them. Having managed Customer Service teams I would be happy to have each of the...

Came upon this cafe by chance, wasn't sign posted in advance, if road had been busy might not have been able to make last minute turn into road leading to this welcoming place. Plenty of free parking, dog friendly inside,(lots of establishments are dog friendly but only outside,so it was good to know at Gemma's, as at the time it was pouring with rain. The girl who waited on our table was very friendly and helpful and told us we had arrived just as the cafe was about to close, but she told us to stay put,and order whatever we wanted and to not worry about rushing to leave so they could close. It was avrry nice place and the food was very nicely cooked, and tasty. Also we didn't have to wait very long for it to be brought to us. I might add it wasn't too expensive. Two coffees, one vegetarian breakfast, and one poached egg on toast, (two eggs on two slices of toast. A really enjoyable experience. Had this cafe been more sign posted both ways, I know we would've called in there on our way back, but it was busier on the road and we didn't see the sign for it until we were almost past the turn off. Such a shame. So could do with more signage, on both sides of the road, and probably a bit further away from the actual turning! Would...
