We found this place by chance, looking for somewhere to eat, and absolutely delighted we did. We were the only ones there, but the owners couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We were offered a sample of their homemade cider, from their own apples and all homemade, which was very good, and we both chose to have it for our drink. The cider batter fish and chips (that hubby had) went down a storm, while I had the homemade chicken and mushroom pie - which was delicious. I'm glad I hadn't eaten anything today until then, as I was starving and managed to eat every scrap. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and you could tell the pie was homemade, and made with love. Unfortunately we were too full to enjoy a pudding, as the homemade selection of cakes looked delicious. We did pick up 2 homemade traditional pasties to have for lunch tomorrow, as they looked fabulous too. The whole barn has been decorated and refurbished sympathetically; and is now decorated ready for Christmas, with lots of local decor items available to purchase, and a Christmas decoration haven is upstairs, with lots and lots of unusual, homemade and artisan decorations available to buy. We had an outstanding meal here, found just by chance, and came away with some new, and special decorations for the tree, a flagon of homemade cider (which we are going to save for Christmas), and tomorrow's lunch. This fab place was the best meal we've had here, in Devon, sadly found on our last day; but we will definitely come back again next time we...
Read moreWhat a view! A perfect sunny garden spot with unrestricted views of the Sea / Bristol Channel, south Wales and Valley of Rocks. Colin, Jill and Tom are a great team behind the bar and restaurant, plus their other amazing smiley staff. They go out their way to serve and help you. Its like being part of a family. Great selection of generous sized meals (Ploughman's for two is our favourite!) and a glass of their OWN Caffyns sparkling medium sweet cider. You can also take out a bottle of wine from their accessible fridge. We are local and come here often. Its out the way and has the last sun of the day, where Lynmouth will be in darkness during the...
Read morePopped in for a beer and ended up with dinner and a few more ales. If you like cider then you must try the on site made cider. We ended up eating or drinking here for the next few days whilst staying near by. Ploughman's was HUGE and the steak and kidney pudding was really nice. Even had breakfast on our way back home after our hols finished. Really friendly, food was lovely and added bonus the view is amazing from the beer garden. Camping and shop on site to which all looked good (not used by us this time) Definitely popping in here again on our next...
