The Break, Saunton — Restaurant in North Devon

We have been coming to this beach for a number of years and enjoy walking our dog along the miles of open sand before stopping for something from the Break. Was going to have a bacon bap but the £6 seemed excessive so decided on a steak pasty for £5.50. This was disappointing as although the gravy gave it plenty of flavour it lacked meat and was not good value. The ice creams being being served were small portions so it appears this venue is taking advantage of a captive audience which is a shame so we will bring our own...

Nice food and drink, friendly faces. Unfortunately signs that ask people to wait until food has been placed down and pick up once colleague has stepped away is pretty awful. You either want customers or you dont. We are trying to move in a positive direction but it seems some places in Devon are not. At the moment there are no laws in place to justify any of your restrictions. It's a sorry state we are in and at some point people who love coming here will just go straight back abroad when restrictions...

Very busy at lunch time but service was fairly quick. Tasty food. Great to see this cafe being environmentally thoughtful. Compostable pots and wooden cutlery; drinks sold in cans not plastic bottles and they were happy to refill by flask and children's drink bottles with tap water. (Just need to rethink the sauce sachets!) Please 'like' my review if you found it...
