The Jack Russell — Restaurant in North Devon

A lovely family run pub. I’ve been coming to the Jack Russell for the last few years as, although I’m from Birmingham, I come down to Swimbridge regularly along with other family members given it’s fantastic scenery and sights. This wonderful pub is in the heart of the village and well worth visiting.

The owners and all the other staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food and service is always superb we even got chatting briefly with one of the friendly waitresses when we went in last Wednesday night who recommended some sights for of the other sights to see across North Devon which was very helpful!

Both the steak night on Wednesday and Sunday dinner are especially worth doing if you get the chance as the meat and vegetables offered are all incredibly fresh. We visited this pub today for Sunday Lunch with friends.||We were seated really promptly and our drink orders taken.||We all opted for a Sunday roast, where the choice was beef, pork or turkey (£10) or all 3 or your combination choice (£12).||The meat, Yorkshire pudding. parsnip and stuffing came out already plated, the vegetables followed straight behind.....and they kept on coming, there was cabbage, carrots, cheesy leeks, cauliflower, swede and not forgetting the roast potatoes. What can I say about The Jack Russell pub but AMAZING!!!!! The food is phenomenal! The staff are exceptional and the locals are totally sociable. |I wanted to give this pub 10 stars as it really was out of this world. |Myself, mum, daughters and dog were happily accepted into the pub where we chilled in big chairs around the wood burner, before eating the most gorgeous roast dinner. And a lot of it too.
