What a fantastic old pub that has been turned into a casual gastro pub with a relaxed, friendly manner.
The main guy serving and who was front of house was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour that left you feeling that this was going to be a good place to eat. He served us our drinks and then proceeded to go through the menu and explaining the dishes intern.
When the food arrived, we were pleasantly surprised as the meal was presented well, but the quality of produce rang through, especially as the produce was selected locally. We had a fabulous time, and there was so much food I could only eat a small amount of vegetables and chips. It's far better going away feeling you had your money's worth at the same time as having quality food.
The one thing that I would recommend is to book early as there are limited spaces, which is a bonus as you are spread out feeling that you are in your own area. We booked a week in advance, and on the night, all the tables were booked.
We were staying around the corner, so for once, we didn't need to think about driving, so unfortunately, I can't say if the pub had a car park or not, but there was off road parking.

Read moreWe called at 2.30pm and sadly nobody answered to take the reservation so ended up booking somewhere else. After the alternative option had turned out to be not-so-ideal we again tried to get through to The New Inn and were fortunate enough to get a table. Our evening then took a dramatic turn for the better. Justin and Julia were the most perfect hosts and so welcoming. We were seated at a lovely, cosy table, they explained the extensive menu in great detail and were attentive to our every need. We had the Turkish carrots to begin (these were simply sublime), then a special of the Hake and the rabbit (so delicious and accompanied with chips, potatoes and plenty of veg- all cooked to perfection!). For dessert we had honeycomb ice cream which was again super tasty and a huge portion! Fantastic meal, lovely environment and the perfect hosts. Wish we were staying in the area longer to return to try other dishes!! Cannot recommend enough. Thanks for a...

Do make sure you book, as you won't want to miss out! Absolutely idyllic & one of the best restaurants we have visited! Worth all 5 stars...
