We booked here for lunch and when we arrived staff were quite busy serving tables and didn't really see us. We were also hidden by a couple who stood very close to us at our table looking at the specials board and not moving for some time. We got the menus ourselves. The choice of vegan and vegetarian breakfasts and lunches was varied and aplenty and reasonably priced. I had the halloumi, peppers and pesto beetroot wrap which was small but really tasty and my partner had the tofu, black bean and broccoli curry with cauliflower rice. He really enjoyed it. It was generous with the tofu, had a nice balance of ingredients but could have done with a few more black beans. Otherwise, pleasantly filling with lots of flavour and not spicy. The cucumber sparkling water was refreshing and an unusual offering on the drinks menu. The organic white wine was good but could have been more chilled. My partner had a slice of polenta cake with vegan creme fraiche for dessert. The cake was delicious and light, had a slightly crumbly texture which was nicely offset by the red berries and creme fraiche and scattering of dry edible flowers. It was a very elegant dish and a good alternative to your run of the mill offering of cakes elsewhere. It felt healthy for a cake. The setting is very nice, laid back, bright, airy and clean with pleasant views to the rear garden. We will return to sample breakfast next time but also go for another lunch and try different dishes in the future. The staff were very attentive and engaging through service and if anything had sold out on the menu, they pointed out good...
Read moreMy daughter booked a Christmas meal for myself and my husband here. A young waitress spilled a whole glass of Bellini down my coat and dress, then walked off and I had to ask her to come back as the drink (sticky as it was) was still dripping in my hands on top of that, my husband was asked to pay the bill and when he told them my daughter had paid for a Christmas present the woman said âoh sorry my manger is off today, Iâll have to call him and checkâ surely she should have been made aware??
There was no real apology? Or compensation offered and ithe experience was spoilt as I had a new dress on which was covered in the drink and it had gone on my coat too
I know the waitress was young, but she should have at the very least not just walked away when water was dripping everywhere. Itâs a shame as the...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. We attended party to celebrate our beloved cousins wedding on Saturday. Not only did the owner/manager interrupt the speeches to ask for payment for the pizza van (half way through the day). She also accused my autistic 14 year old of being intoxicated and out of control, when he was having a meltdown due to being over stimulated. She shut the party down 2.5 hours before we had booked for it to end because âshe didnât like us changing our musicâ. I wonât even put down here what she did next as it was too horrible. Stunning venue, good facilities and the waiting and bar staff were fantastic⊠BUT the management are not inclusive of special needs and are incredibly rude. I DO...
