I brought my dog, Buster here to celebrate his 10th birthday. I had phoned ahead and arranged with the helpful bar staff to arrange a bit of a surprise party for him. There was a nice water bowl laid out for him, an assortment of sausages and meaty snacks and a nice comfy blanket near the fire place. I even managed to keep the surprise from him for the two weeks leading up to the event and all the times I'd struggled to hold back telling him were more than worth it when he walked in and saw what was laid on to celebrate him reaching a decade!
It was after he had swallowed down the last sausage that he glazed over, keeled over and then life left him. I later found out that it was a heart attack that took my buster away from me. He lived a good life, full of excitement and love. He was a good dog.
The staff were very kind after that. Two of them carried Buster out to the car and laid him in the boot, while another ensured I was alright to drive and handed me a packet of tissues. ...

Unfortunately this was one of those places where no one behind the bar drank beer, so no one was prepared to taste what they had just sold me. This is wrong, if you are not prepared to taste what you sell, then you shouldn't be allowed to sell it. How do you know if the beer you are selling is any good if you're not prepared to drink it? Read moreVisited Saturday 10th July for an anniversary meal . First time visit, very happy with food , hot , very well cooked and very tasty . Service was excellent and very polite . First pint of Doom Bar tasted a little vinegary, but landlord explained it was the last of the old barrel and a new one was just on , and replaced it without question.
