For a friends 76th. birthday we booked a table for 2pm. We were eventually seated at 3pm and received our pre ordered food at 3.15pm. Note the pub was over an hour late serving us.
The table had not been cleared or cleaned, and in all honestly it was not a great table- the extension really lacks character- it was akin to a porta cabin.
At 16:10 we had just finished our deserts and were still drinking a bottle of wine and talking. The were asked to leave the table as we were told it was booked for 16:30 and it needed cleaning. We refused stating we had not even had the table for an hour as it was late for use and we were finishing our wine. We were further told to finish the wine at the bar.
An argument ensued to which the persons who's birthday it was told the server to go away- she became very aggressive and we thought would physically remove him- luckily another member of staff shepherded her away before she became physical.
We left shortly after- we shall not return, if only for our safety!

A special mention has to go to our waiter, Raff, who was outstandingāattentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, maybe not about coffee ā š. He made us feel welcome and well looked after, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. And a big thank you to Yani in the kitchen for going the extra mile and sorting out a bottle of prosecco for us to take homeāsuch a thoughtful touch that made our night even more special!
Now, onto the foodāsimply outstanding. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the venison shepherdās pie, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every bite was packed with depth and warmth, making it one of the best dishes we've had in a long time.
Weāre already looking forward to our next visit, especially to try their highly recommended Sunday roasts. If theyāre anything like what we had tonight, weāre in for a real treat!
If youāre looking for a restaurant that delivers on both food and service, The Lytton Arms is the place to go. Highly...
