Visited today as we were in Lincoln buying prom dresses. Didn't get the warmest of welcomes from the start and found that it was only serving dinners on a Sunday priced at 10.95 each for adults and 5.95 for children. We ordered 4 adults and 1 child's. I was shocked when they all came out looking all exactly the same, no difference in size to say the price difference and it was not a good shock. Also all 5 of us had to share the veg and gravy. We decided not to complain at the sight of the dinners and to just eat them but as my nice put her veg on the plate she noticed that there were hairs all around the edge so I did return the dinner . When they brought it back out it had no veg on and as all the other veg had gone we asked for more veg and gravy for it and was told no we couldn't have any more. No apology of any kind. We certainly will not be revisiting this pub. Absolutely disgusting food and service and shocking price for what we got!!! I would add a photo if it was possible to show people what...
Read moreCalled in mid afternoon on a weekend The place had a really funny smell as we walked in. About 5 customers and 4 bar staff. Itâs the only pub in the village and now that people are going back out there should have been more clients.Ordered drinks and sat down reluctantly. This place is supposed to be under new management. Brave or foolish? Well I suggest they sack the âcleanerâ. The dust on the floor under the pool table was inches thick. The whole place needs a complete refurbishment. Get rid of the old smelly carpets, fresh paint, some decent seating & clean tables. Itâs a lovely looking original pub but the interiorâŠ. If it is under new management & they were part of the bar staff, they need a lesson in looking professional - dirty jogging bottoms & a tee shirt straining over a beer belly does not give a good impression. We may well have dropped in at the wrong time and plans to do it up may well be in place but it is not somewhere that we will be going back...
Read moreI visited the Waggon and Horses yesterday at 10pm, I ordered a drink and sat outside. I went back in at 10:45pm and watched the staff member pour a pint of John Smiths for a customer so I asked for a final drink, I was told that everything had been closed for the night and I was refused. Your bar member stated last orders had been called and said she should of let me know but didnât cause I was outside on my phone. As a publican myself, my understanding is that last orders are called prior to licensing hours and then there is drinking up time. I donât think it is acceptable to watch a pint being poured for a known regular and then be told that the bar is closed 2 seconds later at 10:45pm! In actual fact I visit the village on a regular basis when staying with family, and I often frequent the Waggon, have done for nearly 40 years, however after yesterdayâs experience I will not be returning. No customer service...
