We sat next to another table, the same number of people, we ordered our food, followed by the next table. However, the other table received their food around 10 minutes before us. As far as I could see, the other table had ordered about the same as our table, a roast. Strange way of service 🤔

I ordered a small roast. This is by far not the first time, but I'm unable to manage an adults normal sized meal. However, staff seem to assume it's for a child, thus, cold plate with Luke warm food, yuck. I requested extra gravy. Hopefully, it would arrive hot to warm up my food of, by then, a cold plate of food . However, it was served to someone else.

My husband chose a seafood pasta meal to be told later that the advertise d crab was no longer available. He was informed that he would have extra prawns . again, a few minutes later, he was informed that the advertised pasta was no longer available. Would he except spaghetti instead ? By then, he and the other guests were pretty fed up . So, when it finally arrived, the not advertised seafood linguine was appalling. Awful frozen prawns, had been in the freezer for so long, had absolutely 0 taste. Goodness knows why they thought using sweet chill sauce with the spaghetti and prawns constitutes as crab and prawn linguine is beyond us.

He had to call a waitress over to complain. She asked what she could do, and my husband requested a roast beef, which was served, by then after our table had finished their meals.

To top it all, they tried to charge for the 'not, linguine ' meal!

It's a shame. We've always enjoyed our many meals at The Crown. However, we...

Went for a much anticipated evening meal with 3 people on 18/02/2025 with our daughter after telling her how enjoyable The Crown is and that we have been going there for the last 6 years plus including 3 times in the last 4 days. My daughter chose a meal to her taste and we were served a completely different dish, when we commented we were told the new chef had mixed them up? We were offered a change but most of the meal was eaten by the time we were asked and the manager just shrugged as if it is what it is. We then ordered two deserts Sticky Toffee puddings which we ordered as the table next to us had them earlier and they were substantial and they said were lovely. Ours arrived half the size and rock hard like been in the microwave too long. We mentioned our disappointment when we payed our nearly £100 bill and described the inedible dessert an apology was offered but not even a nod to something off the bill for what was clearly not this venues finest hour. I hate it when you find a place that you rave about and introduce friends to and then when it has an off day all the joy you once felt melts away like ice cream on incinerated sticky toffee...

We popped in here to grab some food after hearing good things about the place, the lady explained they were short staffed but could accommodate us, we took a table outside and ordered, 30 mins or so after ordering, the lady appears and tells us she's sorry but our order hadn't actually made it to the kitchen. Not great when you're all really hungry but nothing we could do and understand that errors do happen, we're all human after all, so we sat patiently and waited some more. When our food arrived it was disappointing, it filled a hole but was definitely nothing to rave about, it would have been nice to have a little knocked off the bill for the inconvenience of our waiting time but that didn't happen. We all felt the menu was overpriced for what you got. I would also like to mention that when the young server bought our drinks out, he leant right across my plate of food to put a glass down infront of my daughter, his sleeve was almost in my food, all he had to do was move sideways 2ft and he could have placed it down infront of her without leaning across me. All in all, the staff were pleasant enough but the food wasn't worth...

It's the 2nd time we've been here and both times we have been so impressed with the food. The only disappointment is that I should have taken more pictures. There was 10 of us going for a family gathering and everyone had something different. Everyone loved their meals with the only issue being jealousy when looking at what others were having. The desserts were also very tasty and enjoyed by all. The staff were very friendly and nice although it was sometimes hard to get their attention when we wanted more drinks and then the wait for them was quite long. The building and garden is nice and quiet and it's got a nice rustic but clean decoration with the atmosphere coming from the hum of people talking and laughing. We paid for everyone and for 2 courses and some drinks it was £25 per head although someone else bought the first round of drinks. Still good value for money when you consider the quality of the food.

Brilliant Banningham. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Friendly and warm welcome from all the staff, very clean venue with excellent covid protocols, we felt very safe. The service was spot on, this is a very well run establishment. The food was outstanding, absolutely gorgeous tasty & piping hot, I'm sure our plates didn't need washing they were so clean! The menu is extensive and it was difficult to choose, with additional daily chefs specials to boot. I would highly recommend this pub and look forward to going here again. It has a large car park, an outdoor children's play area, they allow dogs & there's plenty of room for large groups. All this set in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. Outstanding. I would also recommend booking in advance as not to be disappointed, especially with large groups. Oh & they also have live music & comedy gigs etc. Whats not to love!

Food is v good indeed.Good chef . It's fresh and seems mostly home cooked. They do interesting specials such as veg samosas chilli sauce etc. usual pub mains but note they offer fresh skate wings and local seafood/ charcuterie/ cheeseboard sharing meals on the menu. For real ale enthusiasts they offer Abbot ale / Adams ghost ship and other local micro brewery ales They appear to care about everything they do here (including the beer) and might benefit from increased local trade to ensure a good turnaround for these ales but my overall opinion is that you will enjoy a beer here and you will certainly enjoy the food. It's a good traditional style country pub and we in the UK need to support these independent pubs which survive. Pub chains generally don't serve the locals but it's fair to say the Banningham Crown does.
