How do you define excellence. Come to O’Brennans Coffee House & Cafe in Great Walsingham and you will find out. We rented a cottage in the village without WiFi, so we were forced to seek out somewhere that offered it. Best thing that ever happened to us. We stopped for morning coffee and stayed for four days. It was an early morning on day one, so we were alone to chat to Shaun & Kim, and within a few minutes we were comparing life stories. To cut a long story short we left as friends and we were completely overwhelmed with the quality and expertise of Chef Shaun & Kim. The breakfast is terrific, his sausage rolls are to die for (best ever).Coffee and scones were great. Scotch eggs are enormously delicious. We brought back to the cottage the Steak & Stilton and Chicken & Leek pies for our dinner. The quiches are the best we have ever had. We are relocating to St Ives in Cambridgeshire, but definitely coming back for lunch. It’ll be worth the 2 hr drive,.but we are determined to make it back there. It is an absolute gem. Cheers— Jane, Bill and pooches Jack and Kasey ...
Read moreWe had a very nice breakfast and coffee this morning. It was a Tuesday. It was very quiet, only 1 table occupied and another couple came in while we were waiting for our breakfast. The quality of the breakfast was very good although they didn't have any mushrooms so substitute d hash brown. I don't mind paying a little more if the quality is there, and it was. I have read other reviews about waiting time for food and can see how it might be longer if there are more customers - unless, of course, they have additional staff on busier days.
It is very spacious and it has a lovely log burner to heat the place and add atmosphere and is dog friendly. I don't understand people who say dogs shouldn't be allowed. Go in 9 out of 10 places like this and yes they allow dogs. Being spacious allows for somewhere to sit out of the way with a dog or 2. Only 1 toilet to cater for all customers though. Loads of parking space around the back, easy...
Read moreWe recently visited Obrennans for a brunch as a group of motorcyclists. We are called Norfolk WrinklyRideouts and are a group of senior riders there were 17 of us on the day. I phoned ahead about week before to make enquiries as not every venue welcomes bikers but from the very first call Shaun and Kim just couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. On arrival we were made to feel at home with a warm welcome….table service and great food and fabulous coffee. Would definitely recommend this fabulous little Jem of a place and we will definitely be back soon and frequently as the lovely Norfolk lanes to ride to this destination are just delightful. Shaun has now joined our group as he is a biker too and we look forward to his company when he gets a few moments off from the coffee house. To summarise Great place, great food, Great people, highly recommend you visit soon and also support their fundraising for supporting...
