The Wheatsheaf Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Location: West Beckham, North Norfolk Coast Atmosphere: The Wheatsheaf offers a warm, friendly, welcoming and cozy environment. It's the perfect place to unwind, relax and feel right at home. Service: The staff are very friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. The new owners are regularly at the pub and contribute to the friendly welcoming atmosphere. Drinks: A great selection of ales, craft beers, wines, soft drinks and even hot drinks, the owners have clearly ensured that there is something for everybody. Food: The menu is full of delicious options. From classic fish and chips to juicy burgers, vegetarian and vegan dishes, there's something for everyone. The ingredients are clearly fresh and care is taken in preparing the meals. Entertainment: The Wheatsheaf hosts live music and quiz nights, adding extra fun to your visit. There is also a games room with a dart board and pool table, so you have many options on how you spend your time here, It's perfect for a casual night out with friends or a relaxed evening with family. Dogs are welcome, with many locals brining their much loved pooches throughout the day. Rooms: although I didn’t stay here I’m aware that they have some amazing rooms, which can be booked on their website. Again some of the rooms are dog friendly, which is really hard to find. Overall Experience: The Wheatsheaf is a must-visit pub with its welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, great drinks, and delicious food, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be returning

Disappointing value for the cost. The rooms whilst clean, were a little bit shabby. Mould in the grout and silicone in the shower and the light was full of dead bugs. See photos. Breakfast was lackluster, croissants and jam on offer, not a cooked breakfast. The ensuite door didn't close properly and had to be slammed shut in get it to close. The toilet was right next to the window overlooking the pub garden. Not frosted, so had to have the blind down making it dark in there. The toilet was dirty when we arrived. Not worth the money on this occasion. We won't be back

Lovely traditional Sunday roast lunch. A number of choices of meat, I had roast rump of beef which was cooked medium and very tasty. A selection of veg, roast potatoes, stuffing and yorkshire pudding. A portion of pigs in blankets on the side and lovely jug of gravy. Apple crumble to follow. Reasonable prices and great service. Has been recently taken over and had some refurb, lots of car parking and good size garden for alfresco dining, or just a pint of cider in the sun.. Will definitely go again, thanks.

We have just returned from our 3night stay to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday and we were really looking forward to our break in a part of the country I had not visited before Our room and bathroom were good with a lovely walk-in shower. The breakfast menu was very good with excellent portions and delicious. Unfortunately it is not the place to spend a relaxing few days away in comfortable surroundings. When we arrived the waiter took our details and although my credit card had been registered when we booked, he asked for the card and duly proceeded to input the whole amount then asked for my pin whilst still hovering over me. The owner Linda who was friendly enough, took us to our room The first night of our stay our table had been booked for 6.45pm and as we wanted a drink before our evening meal, however, we got downstairs roughly 6.30pm and were told to sit at our table by the waiter. I noticed Linda was sat in the bar area with 2others !! The menu wasn’t extensive but, expensive as Ham Eggs and Chips was £17.95!! I asked for the specials but was told the chef was off sick and which meant specials couldn’t be offered. We ate out the following day and hoped to go into the bar when we got back after 7ish. Our hopes were dashed when the same waiter told us that we had to sit in the dining room as he only had 2tables left there. We were ushered into a dining room which was busy, told him we didn’t want to eat, just a drink and where else could we sit??? I walked around the 2 rooms and the other dining area was empty!? Waiter brought our drinks so I asked if we could move he said we couldn’t. We took our drinks and went upstairs to our room feeling like two naughty children!!!! At breakfast we explained to Linda how very disappointed we felt with the way the waiter had dealt with us, not like residents at all!! Her explanation was that they would have to talk to him again!!!! She explained about the Covid restrictions they had to implement after lockdown etc. She mentioned that they had thought of putting arms chairs, sofa’s and the like in the Bistro(breakfast room) but it would mean a lot of furniture removals all the time. We fully appreciate how hospitality has suffered during the last 2 years and relished our stay in “A Rustic and cosy little pub”!! Unfortunately, we did not receive the friendly cosy 3star customer service that we anticipated We wanted a little break enjoying a new area, then return to our pub to relax and have a drink before retiring for the night, sadly this was...

Literally the worst experience I and my family have ever had in a pub. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING IN THIS PUB. I do hope that this review has a real detrimental effect on the business as these owners are quite clearly in the wrong line of business! My sister and mum ordered the only vegetarian main meal option and were very unhappy with it. They thought they were getting a nut roast but it tasted nothing like they were expecting. The meal was over priced as it was and was clearly bought in and by no means fresh, possibly even a out of the freezer into the microwave job. My sister very politely explained to the waitress that they found the meal unacceptable. The waitress was very nice and asked if they would like the menu to try something else. Both my sister and mum then both had a starter as there was no other option. When we came to pay we were told that we had to pay for both the main meals that had barely been touched and the starters. We were not told at any point that if we had replacement meals we would have to pay for them. And when we tried to contest this the managers and a couple of members of staff became very rude and confrontational. We tried to come to an agreement that we would pay for the mains that we hadn’t eaten if they let us off the starters. But there was no way that they were going to budge on this at all, they were not willing to hear our argument at all. They insinuated that they knew we were going to be an problem, however we are the sort of people that very very rarely complain and it would take us a lot to do so. We were shocked and appalled by the way we were treated. We were told to leave and were practically removed from the premises being followed out into the car park, where the owners then took pictures of our number plates. It was completely ridiculous, could not believe how these people have been able to keep a business in hospitality as we have never been treated so abysmally in our lives! We were on holiday and the experience left us extremely upset and really did ruin...
