We came here for a family meal. This was our first time here. We've passed here so many times over the years and thought we must come to try it out and for whatever reason we haven't but today was the day. Upon entering the pub we were greeted by the wonderful smell of Sunday roast dinner. For me, that's a great first impression. Wandering through, it was like being in a Tardis, it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. The staff are friendly and happy to help especially if you have dietary requirements. There's a good menu with gluten free alternatives as well. I would imagine this will be a busy place at weekends so it is probably advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Asked bar tender what roast of day was and he said gammon so we decided not to have roast of the day. The person taking order said bar tender was new and got it wrong it was chicken so we ordered it. Starters eventually arrived at 8 pm followed by very disappointing main course at 8.45. It was in fact gammon! The vegetables were awful, tasteless, and under cooked.
