Greggs — Restaurant in North West Leicestershire

Went to pick up a sandwich and drink today as part of the “sandwich & drink deal for £4”. I picked up a roast chicken salad sandwich and a bottle of Coke Zero and paid with a £10 note. Went to pay and was received £5.37 change, I challenged this and was told that I had to pay sugar tax!? So I queried this and was then told that I had to pay more because I was sitting and eating my lunch. So I queried this again saying that you were “charging” me sugar tax on a sugar free drink then because I was eating in!? No where on the displayed pricing does is show that there are extra charges for sitting in or taking away. Fair enough I don’t mind paying extra for ‘eating in’ but don’t make stuff up in front of the customer. I also advised that I had come the previous week and brought the same deal and received that for £4 too, which I was snortedly told they’d charged me incorrectly. I eventually got the correct change of £6 after repeatedly explaining this to the guy ‘who was trying to be little everything I said’ as it was advertised for £4 I will not be going there again as I feel I have been treated badly. Female on shift at 3:59/4am refused to serve me for drinks only despite waiting patiently and there to be seen! She served a couple in front of us however when it was our turn to pay, she rudely declined. She was moaning to couple in front that she had just done 16 hours and was now closed & wouldn’t serve me. It was still operating hours though and I had been waiting! No one else after me & all I wanted was 2 bottles of pop, mega thirsty after an 8 hour night flight. She told me (quite abruptly) to go to WHSmiths! I lifted out my phone to check the time as I didn’t believe it was 4am & it wasn’t. Still 3:59! So, so rude. Fully appreciate shop shuts at 4am but it wasn’t quite that time!!! She had clearly seen me waiting patiently in line and chose not to serve me. One more customer, before you shut shop. No one else after us. Appalling.

You also need to move that half drank bottle of Ribena from the fridge before food standards pay u a visit. Worst ever Greggs. Zero customer service skills. Needs escalating to an area manager. Major upskilling of staff...
