Stopped for lunch with my partner, daughter and our dog. Waited and was seated by a member of staff in an area which was off the bar. Ordered food which was lovely. We all enjoyed our meal until the last few bites when a women who I can only assume was a member of management, stood at the other side of the restaurant and in a loud, abrupt manner and proceeded to raise her voice and inform us that our dog was not allowed in the area we where eating! In shock, as I wasn't even sure who she was talking to as she did not approach our table or introduce herself I realised she was speaking to us!!! "Dogs are not allowed in this area, in future do not have your dog here" and other comments that I cannot remember. At this she stormed off in the direction of the kitchen, leaving us shocked and annoyed! After all we were seated by a member of staff, we didn't try and disguise the dog, I didn't hide him under my coat, he was there for all to see, nor where there signs to say No Dogs! My daughter who had wanted a dessert was left confused and annoyed as with this we paid the bill and left. I feel this woman really needs a course in customer service! Had she approached us at the table in a courtesy manner we would have explained that as a customer I am unaware of the policies within the restaurant, if we have a dog with us we need to eat in the bar, which was fine with us, but please don't embarrass us by standing 10ft away, without introduction, infront of my 10 year old daughter to tell us our beloved dog isn't welcome! A dog friendly...
Read moreWas disappointed tonight at steak night. First steak night was epic, this time the steak was well cooked but tough (clearly a different quality from the first night. Such a pity as I really wanted somewhere to replace the Point since it fell of a cliff about a year ago. Also lose the square plates with the lips, you can't get your knife into your food negotiating the high sides, looks cute, but not practical. Wine tonight I suspect was your 8% proof variety also a divergence from opening night. Steak night is £26 incl glass of wine for 2, so value for money cannot be complained about, but no good if the quality is allowed to slip. Upside is the staff are some of the most pleasant and efficient I have encountered. This experience will not put me off trying again, but please, please, consistency needs to be your watchword. I would have been mortified if I had invited guests with us tonight.
I know the margins has to be a consideration in this day and age, bump it up to £36 from £26 and get better quality meat, I would gladly pay it, and I suspect...
Read moreI visited here with my family this eveing after a lovely day trip to beach. First of all they had no food available apart from a Chinese buffet. Which was 15 a head, which struck me as very expensive. The food was served on wooden plates that looked dirty and stained, should have been a big give away that the food wasn't going to be up to a good standard. They only have 3 choices of dishes, chicken curry, sweet and sour and a "black bean beef" dish. Portions where very small and you weren't able to get seconds, not that you would after trying it the first time. Food was cold and the rice was clearly being held under 63 degrees which is a huge health safety risk. No flavour atall and completely dry and unateatable. Rice was hard, dry and cold. Whole family where extremely disappointed! When we presented our full plates and asked for a refund or alternative food we where told no. That they could heat up are already dried and over cooked cold food! Service terrible, food awful and we all left hungry and out of pocket. Awful experience...
