Chequers Articlave — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Typical over priced, hyped up North West Chippy. The fish is sub par. The Burgers are made with cheap meat. The chips are never cooked properly. Chicken goujons are always greasy. The staff always seem to have something better to be doing other than work.

Edit: For the reply from the owner. The burger was over cooked and lacking in taste. Orders are only right half of the time. The fish has been greasy every time I've ordered.

For clarity, I'm referring to Articlave not others. The one at Riverside is a world of difference to this one. Maybe check that your staff are doing their job properly. I do not write bad reviews without a valid reason.

I've seen many companies win multiple awards and still get shut down. Winning an award is one thing. Maintaining that standard is another.

Have completely give up trying to get through to this place on the phone. Every time we stay in benone at caravan they never answer the phone, and everyone we speak to says the same. If i were the owner of this place i would be livid at the amount of business lost due to staff not being bothered to answer and take an order. And im not being lazy, just trying to save time, but everytime we couldnt get through we drove up and nobody was in the place so not to say they are busy. wont be back and i know most of benobe are...

Went to here for the first time since lockdown in March. What a letdown, this used to be one of the best chippies in NI but since the lockdown it has went downhill fast. The prices have rose dramicially with a fish supper now costing nearly £8 with chips £3.30 and a reduced menu. The fish now a thin sliver were it used to be thick chunky flakes.
