As a very regular customer of this store, I have noticed standards drop steadily in recent months. But today’s experience was the worst yet. I noted 7 staff - 3 wearing headsets and covering the drive thru, leaving 4 in the main servery. With the queue backing up to the door, there was plenty of time to observe the chaos of what was going on. 2 members of staff were clearly new and had no idea how to work the till. Only one of the other staff members took an active interest in assisting them, but they seemed to prioritise other duties before doing so. With no supervisory staff apparent, quite unacceptable amounts of time were spent waiting on them to work out what to do. The situation was certainly not helped when staff from the drive-thru, when not busy, came into the main servery to chat and laugh with other colleagues. I queued for almost 15 mins and when no new orders were taken for almost 10 mins, we left in disgust. This was just the latest bad experience in this particular Costa and therefore I would appreciate if management for this store would contact me as I would like to discuss this and other recent experiences with them. Read moreI am very disappointed with the experience me and my mum had here. For it being a relatively new Building it was filthy. There was rubbish everywhere, inside and out. No-one was cleaning the tables after people had left. No one was cleaning the barista area between making coffee. (Again it was filthy). The seats themselves were filthy and ripped. Toilets were disgusting and the disabled toilet even had poo smeared up the back seat. It was left and not even cleaned. Bins not emptied. Toilet roll not even in its holder. The service was awful. The staff were miserable and not very engaging - bar one male staff member. I wanted to bring my mum out for a nice coffee, and to be honest we didn't even want to touch anything the place was that filthy. This Costa would really need to manage their staff and teach them how to clean, speak/engage with their customers, manage fast cleaning after customers are finished or I could see this place shutting down very quickly.
