On arrival we were greeted & seated with friendly staff, offered water & from then our experience of celebrating our 18th wedding Anniversary was appalling, a party of 5 we waited 15 minutes for water before giving a menu & to be told it was a set menu & the other food menu was not available until 5pm. We waited for 15 minutes again for our food & drinks order to be taken, we had our starter served 20 minutes later & still no drinks, we had our starter finished when the waiter returned with drinks minus 1 drink to inform us there was no red bull, we had asked for the cocktail menu & again waited for this, eventually the waiter returned with menu & the rest of the party had finished their 1st drink, so we reordered another drink & a cocktail, the waiter returned with our drinks & then be told there was no cranberry juice, this understandable due to brexit, but I feel when giving the cocktail menu we should have been told what was available, again my daughter Inlaw still had not received a 1st drink!!! I would understand if the restaurant was busy but it was not, the service we received was appalling. We then received our main course & was extremely disappointed, roast potatoes you could not have cut as they were over cooked & roast of sirloin was very chewable. We had ordered another drink & two dessert, eventually when the drinks arrived they were finished before we received the two desserts, the service we received was very poor, I always leave a tip but found it very difficult to do so.

My future in laws brought my FiancĂ© and I here to have a look around as a potential wedding venue because they got married here many many years ago. We purchased a bottle of Champagne and the server was about to give us wine glasses to drink them from. When questioned, he said they didn’t have any flutes. No offer to go get them or to be seated while some were picked up from the restaurant. So we had to carry the bottle and ice bucket ourselves to the table and then go find some flutes ourselves from the restaurant. I would understand if he couldn’t leave his station but we watched him leave the hut himself three times during our stay. Vastly disappointed at this level of service from a five star establishment. Only three or four tables were occupied during this time so it wasn’t because it was busy. Nice touch having herbs on the tables except they were all dead. We won’t be coming back.

We visited here this week for my husband’s birthday celebration. I had called in advance and asked them if they could do something special? And we decided that when I’d order dessert they will bring it out on a special platter with a candle! And they did so! In fact upon entering my husband was greeted very nicely and wished happy birthday! Our server Adam’s friendly nature made us feel at ease instantaneously. Now that’s a five star on hospitality. Let’s talk about the food, we ordered a variety of dishes- chicken curry, cod, and prawn linguine. I am so impressed with the chefs breath of expertise across all cuisines. I mean the mix of flavours, the chopping, every thing was perfectly done! Brilliant team work! Definitely will go again and won’t wait until another birthday!

We were really looking forward to a meal here this evening. I went for a curry as I was told it was a smooth sauce when I asked as I don’t like onions. It came out with onions and veg. My partner swapped his meal with me as we waited the guts of 20 minutes before a server came to our table to see if everything was ok for us, when he eventually did, we explained that we were disappointed with our food as we were told the sauce was smooth and it wasn’t. As I was speaking, mid conversation he turned and walked away. We were that confused at what just happened we presumed maybe he was going to get the manager. No, he just walked away from us mid sentence and never returned. No one came near us the remainder of the time we were there, to offer drinks, dessert or even to lift our plates. It got to the point we just went up to the til to pay. We planned on staying here the rest of the night for drinks but the mood was ruined by the complete lack of decent customer service and especially for the price of everything. It was probably the worst experience we have had in a while and we were very disappointed. I did express this to the manager when we were at the til and our meals were taken off. This was a nice gesture but it wasn’t the point. We were out to spend money and wanted to stay longer for drinks but we couldn’t wait to leave the place in the end up. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone thinking about having a nice evening meal. Absolutely shocking customer service. Not sure how a restaurant can lack such common manners and charge the prices...

I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, we had a less than satisfactory experience. Upon entering, I felt ignored as I stood waiting without any acknowledgment from the staff.

Once seated, we waited for an extended period before a server finally came to our table. This lack of attention continued throughout the meal. The quality of the food left much to be desired. The trout I ordered was overly fatty, and the battered fish dish was disappointingly heavy on batter and lacking in fish content. The vegan burger resembled a children's meal in terms of portion size and flavor.

What added to the disappointment was that our waiter never came over to check if we were satisfied with our meal or to inquire about additional drinks, which we were eager to order. This lack of attentiveness contributed to a sense of poor service overall.

Furthermore, the prices at this restaurant felt disproportionately high for the quality of food and service received. This combination of subpar food and service, coupled with the high prices, made for a regrettable dining experience.

In summary, my visit to this restaurant left me feeling ignored, disappointed with the food quality, and unsatisfied with the level of service. I hope these concerns can be addressed in the future to improve the overall dining experience for...
