Disappointed there's extremely little to eat for gluten free and vegan. Was able to get the coffee okay with alternative milk, but my only option for food was salad - consisting of lettuce, tomato, red, onion, mixed pepper, and plain couscous - hardly what I'd call a full salad option. Then when I went to open it (takeaway) there was barely anything there! I'd at least have thought that more of each product would be put in considering the things I couldn't have. It barely filled half of the container, never mind my stomach! It's the second time I've been. This time the wait was unacceptable. Far too long. I'll only be going for takeout coffee when I'm occasionally passing. There's a lot more food improvement to be made before I'll eat here again so I can't recommend. The staff are very slow (I've worked in these establishments before and this is the slowest service I've come across). On my third visit, I was challenged by a male staff member (?chef/owner) over my review, like he'd been waiting to attack me and say his piece. He pointed out that I neglected to mention I was at the end of a queue on a busy day and the place was full and suggested I take a look at it again. That aside, I fully stand by my review. I will not be intimidated into removing it. And if this is considered acceptable treatment of a returning customer, then I certainly will not be back again. I will note that the female server no doubt heard our conversation as I felt she was extra polite and kind to appease me. Superb coffee with a great selection of non-dairy options, wide range menu with plenty of choice and fairly priced with fast service and non-pretentious presentation. Great spot for a simple coffee and cake or even a hearty lunch. Amazingly attentive staff (Shara and Naoimh) who are friendly and make a visit back essential! Pancakes and bacon are the best around and The Jax Stack is out of this world!! Lovely cosy atmosphere too, what more could you ask for? Will be returning...
