Lily's Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

A review to express my disappointment regarding our recent dining experience at your establishment. Having made a reservation online mid-week for a family meal, we were looking forward to enjoying the ambiance of the main restaurant. However, upon arrival, our experience was far from seamless.

In the first instance, the waitress directed us to the bar area, informing us that our table was located there. Once we arrived at the bar, the bar staff then redirected us back to the restaurant, creating unnecessary confusion. It became apparent that there was a complete lack of organisation in managing reservations and guest seating.

After this back-and-forth, we were eventually informed that our table was indeed in the bar area because the main restaurant was fully booked. While I understand that seating arrangements depend on availability, it would have been far more considerate to inform us in advance that our reservation would not be within the main dining space. Had this been communicated at the time of booking or even prior to our arrival, we could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed with our reservation or explore alternative options.

As the bar area did not provide the same dining ambiance we had expected when making our reservation, we ultimately decided to leave and dine elsewhere. This was disappointing, as we had planned our visit in advance, only to find that our expectations were not met due to poor communication and lack of clarity regarding seating arrangements.

I strongly suggest that in the future, customers be notified at the time of booking if their table is allocated outside the main dining area to ensure transparency and better manage expectations. Additionally, improving communication between staff members would help avoid unnecessary confusion...

My experience was marvellous. This was no surprise to me as I have been dining at Lily's since it's opening many years ago. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with quality and presentation of the food provided there. The staff are friendly and efficient and very anxious to please. They will always endeavour to make your dining at Lily's a pleasant and happy experience. With the wonderful ambience, prompt service, lovely staff and first class top notch food I would recommend a visit to Lily's asap. For those who like more Lily's have Quiz,and music nights and can accomodate other events. If you wish to make a full night of your visit to Lily's after your meal you can move into the cosy friendly bar to finish off your great evening out. Booked for an early mother's day. Food was ok, very greasy and left alot of oil on the plate. Desserts weren't great at all. No one ate them as they were just not great at all. Staff were fantastic! So friendly and chatty which was great! What really put a dampner on the day and experience was the crowd. Football and rugby were on which was fine but we kept getting dirty looks from people. When we laughed too loud people shook their heads. We were leaving as the table we booked was booked for 5.30pm and when leaving someone said to us that we shouldn't be there and the bar should be regulars only when football is on. We were disgusted, made us feel really unwelcome. I know no fault of the bar as such but just thought the whole...
