We enjoyed our visit here for an early dinner/late lunch. The food was enjoyable...The portions were huge. We got the sharing platter starter which was really delicious. The burger was nice and we were impressed that the tobacco onions appeared to be homemade which is rare to find. The staff were really lovely and checked on us a few times. Happily switched hubby's sauce for him when ordering. The chairs were not comfortable (I used my coat to cushion the seat). I enjoyed the interesting wallpaper in the ladies'. For me it loses one star because yes, everywhere is getting more expensive but I still think £19 for a burger is far too much. The atmosphere was a little bland as well, the music was very quiet (although once I tuned into the playlist I was grateful for that as I'm not a fan of songs being covered in a slow, whimsical voice) and someone seemed to be typing numbers into the world's loudest calculator for a good fifteen minutes. Once they finished that they moved on to throwing cutlery into a drawer with gusto. It was the kind of quiet where you feel you're sharing your chat with more than just the person opposite. But those issues are easily fixed if they upgrade the playlist, turn the volume up just a tiny bit and maybe think about if the price hike from the menu picture they have here on Google is necessary (£13 8 months ago, now £19). Overall we were satisfied and I would go back again for the food if we were passing again (especially enjoyed the brie).

I recently dined at Alley Trio Restaurant and overall, my experience was mixed. I would rate the food a 3 out of 5. The dishes were somewhat average, lacking the expected flavor and presentation. The service and the layout of the menu, however, were disappointing, earning a 2 out of 5. The menu was overly complicated and difficult to understand, particularly for older patrons. This significantly impacted the dining experience. To top it off, the dessert was a letdown. The warm tart was undercooked, with a noticeable taste of raw flour. This was quite off-putting and marred the meal. In summary, while the restaurant has potential, there are significant areas that need improvement, particularly in menu clarity and dessert quality.

Called into Salleys on our way home - located in the centre of aughnacloy. Salleys is both a bar and restaurant. The decor is very nice and comforyable. Good menu selection to suit all needs. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is busy and possibly would need to be pre-booked. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes for our food, and only after asking did they realise they forgot to place our order in the kitchen. When our starter eventually arrived it was a bit bland. Followed by our main course which were also bland in taste. Not sure if we would call again if passing by - it was a disappointing experience for us, but others obviously think different by how busy it was.

Really disappointing service. The food was lovely and well presented, so it was such a shame the service let it down so dramatically. If some of the things happened on their own, we may not have been so disappointed but one thing after another made the experience unsatisfactory. We ordered our food and 2 of the 4 dishes came out, and the sides for one of the other dishes. After 5 minutes we ask where the other dishes are and they go to check. 5 minutes later we chase them and they apologise and say the plates went to another table so they’d cook them again. Another 5-10 minutes pass and we finally get the remaining two plates. Nearly 20 minutes from when we received the first 2.

Then, after a few attempts to get the dessert menu (again, chasing it up twice), we began ordering and after taking 2 of the 4 orders the lady literally just started walking off. We called her back to finish the order but then she walked off AGAIN before the last person gave their order and we had to call her back. I was pretty shocked, I’ve never experienced a service like that. A very simple ‘is that all?’ Or at least going round the 4 people at the table to take their orders? Maybe that’s too much to ask. To top it off, they forgot one of the desserts and we had to chase up for this (again, 5 minutes AFTER everyone else had received theirs).

It was such a shame because as I said the food was great. I noted no discounts were offered for the several inconveniences and no apology was offered for walking off twice during ordering nor for forgetting the dessert (granted they did apologise for the first...

Nice restaurant, very good food, not overly priced. Professional unifomed staff. Very badly let down,by elderly owners, who used extreme profanity in front of customers. The lady owner, barged up to our table demanding to know if we had paid for our drinks. We told her the drinks came up from the bar below, and they were on the bill. She then ordered a young waitress to go down and check this was so. The waitress returned about 3 minutes later to confirm this. In the meantime, this 'lady', conducted a police style interrogation, asking us who we were, where we lived, occupation etc. I was slightly annoyed with this, and I was prepared to leave that moment, only our dinner had arrived. Served by a professional waiter who was extremely well behaved. Dinner over, we went downstairs to settle the bill. Only to find the same old woman using profanity to another member of staff, if front of customers. I found this completely unprofessional , and unsettling to watch, truthfully, I just wanted to leave. My friends, who are local to the area, told me that it was common to see, and said not to worry about it. He then decided we have one drink in the bar. We got drinks in beside an open fire, 5 minutes later, there was a commotion and I went to see and hear the elderly owners having a stand up row, again using extreme profanity. At that point, I said enough was enough and I left the premises. I can assure,I will never be back. Good restaurant certainly, good food and drink. Badly let...
