The Four Winds is within walking distance from me and was always great for a family meal out and for a social night out as a couple or with friends, especially Saturday night dancing. We visited regularly and looked forward to a good eating experience and entertainment. Unfortunately now the menu is not as good as it was prior to the refurbishment and the music in the Colina bar finishes on a Saturday night at 9pm!! As an older person (ie over 40 with a family living within the vicinity) I like to eat out locally, if possible, socialise in comfortable surroundings with friendly staff and a good range of dishes to choose from the main menu. I was in the Four Winds this evening and had a good meal I enjoyed, but with limited choice on the menu. I enjoyed the vocalist but he finished too early. The place was practically empty by 10.30pm. I intended staying out for a few drinks until last orders but I left early (at 10.50) because there was no sense staying as it was so quiet. A lot of money has been invested in this establishment and with the right promotion/marketing and with good music on Fri/Sat nights with space for dancing it could be a goldmine. A beautiful place in a prime location. Please please listen to feedback and bring the Four Winds back to life with music and dance for the golden oldies........
Read moreMyself and my staff would class the Four winds as our regular. I have to firstly say that we have never had any problem with the food. it is always tasty. We had booked a table in the Collina bar for our Christmas dinner last night. We were looking forward to the evening and had noticed that there 2 for one gin serves were on offer, still advertised on the Facebook. We placed our drinks order but were told that the offer was over. There were no dates or t's and c's on the post and right next to us was a Black board still stating the 2 for 1 offer!! We accepted it and ordered something else. We were given our dinner menus and all of us had only wanted a main course so decided on a traditional turkey dinner. The waitress told us that if we wanted the turkey dinner we would have to have 3 courses! I'm sure it would not have taken much to let us have the one course and pay for it??? We ordered from the other menu instead, disappointed. I can't complain though the food was amazing but we were so looking forward to a traditional a Christmas dinner. The staff were friendly but we felt like that after asking politely for the above that the waitress was annoyed with us and couldn't be bothered after that. This was our second year here for Christmas dinner but next year we will...
Read moreHad improved for awhile but it's gone to the dogs again. They had started doing a lovely lasagne but last time I went the had literally halved the portion size and it tasted like 3 day old stale food. I had it twice during the 50% off januray sale they had on for food and id never tasted a nicer lasagne but they have effectively doubled the price for half the portion now that the deal is over. Now the cheese on it was hard in places and cold and chewy in others. Some mouthfuls were warm others were very cold so it hadn't even been reheated properly. When I mentioned the portion size they said they had to half it as they got too many complaints about the portion being too big lol. Chicken was full of very small bones that could have been a choking hazard. Service had improved with the food coming out faster and the staff being more pleasant tho. Cheesy garlic bread with pesto was delicious as was the soup but the chefs seem to fail when it comes to actually having to cook food. Won't be rushing...
