We attended the easter event at Dyan mill last year and ate in the Hungry Goat after and we were so impressed with the food and staff. They had a 3 course set meal for adults for £28 and 3 course set for kids at £14. Upon speaking to the manager at how our 5 kids all aged between 1 and 6 wouldn't eat much, she agreed to let us have a main course at £7 each for them. She was so accommodating and we couldn't wait to go back this year as food was also fab! This year we immediately recognised the manager again and as they had the same set menu for the kids we spoke to her again about just getting a main for them. But she said she couldn't do that and that we would have to pay £14 for 2 goujons and some chips. I had said she accommodated us the previous year and that's why we came back and she said well this is a different year and a different menu and was very ignorant. She said we were the first to ask this. Not the same friendly woman from the previous year. It was exactly the same menu. She stormed off. She eventually came back and said she could do one course again for £7. We then had our dinner but to be honest they lost us at the cheeky exchange and we had made a decision there and then we wouldn't be back again. For the remainder of the service she was awkwardly overly pleasant and I wished the exchange didn't happen previously as we were made to feel like liars. I personally would have preferred 2 courses but there was no option for this either. There should be a choice of 1,2 or 3 courses for kids and adults like all other places and it shouldn't be made into a big issue if someone doesn't want 3. All mains were hot and beautiful but the sticky toffee pudding was so disappointing as it was dry and didn't taste good but we felt like we had to take it as we were paying for it. Unfortunately we will not be returning to future easter events here and they have lost a party of 9 people. £300 in total spent at the event hunt and food in our party and made to feel unwelcome with the horrible attitude. Such a pity as the previous year was...
Read moreWe were staying on site in the air bnb and when we arrived we had some drinks to settle us in. The place was amazing. They had a lovely cosy fire in the corner whilst we enjoyed a few quiet ones. The next morning we had breakfast here. My wife and daughter had the breakfast bap whilst I had the eggs on sourdough with sausage and bacon. Very tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We will definitely be returning...
Read moreFirst visit with the family for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Food was outstanding with service to match. Got the roast beef dinner and it's the first time ever in a restaurant that the gravy wasn't rationed. I love plenty of gravy with my dinner and there was a very generous portion on it. Loved this place and will be back...
