Friday 29th Nov, arrived just after 1PM. Asked the staff if my service dogs were welcome, and was told that indeed they were. I ordered a drink and settled by the fireplace. after 2PM I went up to the bar - and a quite unpleasant man served me (after giving me a disapproving stare). I was looking for place to eat and get out of Ketosis state (Diabetic Type 1) - I would not be able to function if I didn't address this asap. I was delighted that I had found a pub. Afternoon went on - I had some drinks and ordered BBQ Ribs. I was not aware of the fact I had to eat them within set time limit. I couldn't eat them fast due to lack of digestive system (result of previous 3 cancers). I have been learning how to eat solid foods for the past 13 months. Consuming baby formula like foods is not fun - believe me. But to the point - at 5PM the owner of the place asked me to leave stating that the pace I was occupying was for everyone and not just one person sitting there all day long. Every single time I had an interaction with the members of staff I enquired if it was still ok for me to stay. ad asked the staff to let me know when you I need to move on considering it was Friday afternoon. I was half way through my late lunch but I did gather my belongings and left. From financial / business point of view - may I suggest that maybe dynamic pricing (including segment pricing, demand based pricing, event based print) or minimum unit charge per hour (eg £50/hr to sit at the fireplace) is introduced as to avoid any confusion / embarrassment etc and asking undesirables to move on. Also improved communications with members of the staff would probably be beneficial (may be tricky if staff don't like you ) My strong believe is that the staff planned and executed a perfect embarrassment situation for the proprietor !!! They obviously DO NOT LIKE THE MAN. Sir, you may have a few bob to open a business - but if your staff and customers do not like you - you may find yourself in some sort of trouble. You are lucky you have your chef - as he is the driving force in your business, You are not a 'Big Man" Welcome you customers, be more welcoming. and if you do not want to - and you just want to run your business to bring your associates out and need space - one a VIP / members only establishment. I will leave the ethics and morals of the story to anyone considering their custom, Regards

Went again last night....was so surprised service was awful, 35mins between course, gave up on the sweet menu server simply didnt return. Food was awful, and I mean awful, you could have shod a horse with the salmon. Veg was bland and looked so awful on the plate. I am not going to say don't go, I'll give it another go as it was so good before. But please Point, you can shrug of a bad night, but there were people there who brought guests who were mortified by the state of the food and service. Think on, the Anglers is now dead, but you can't rest on past glory, sort it out or there'll be no restaurants between Coleraine and Limavady. lots of new faces serving as well, somethings up???? Went.last night for the first time in 2025, meal was outstanding as was the service. 1st time back in over a year. Went elsewhere because I felt the standard had fallen of a cliff. Tonight was bunged being Paddy's night so I am guarded about what I want to say. Standard is better than last season, but still just OK. It's not enough to pay over the odds and travel the distance. The steak was just OK, the pepper sauce was poor but the tobacco onions were very good. Service was good considering the crowd and staff were professional, if a little rushed. I will reserve proper judgement until I go on a weekday or any day accept a public holiday. I do generally like this place, love its location and the atmosphere, just wish I could rave about the food, unfortunately at this time I can't.

Arrived without a reservation and it wasn’t a problem for a party of 5. Drinks were quick and so was the food. It was hot and full of flavour and that was the 3 dishes. We had a chilli pasta dish, chicken goujons and a chicken stack. As said all 3 were hot temperature wise and loads of flavour. Portion size was bigger than we were expecting. Servers were very nice and efficient and were very welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. There is appears to be more seats and tables to parking outside. But don’t let that put you off, it’s an illusion. Tables are small but well spaced out. So if you have any difficulties with movement, you will be fine. Only reason for not 5 stars, we were shown to a table more suited to 4 people, but we made it work. Would I eat there again? Yes I would

Extremely disappointed. we go to benone every year several times a year, and every time we do me and my family always make sure we get to The Point restaurant to eat atleast once each trip as we loved the food so much. we ranted and raved about it to everyone and always recommended it to anyone at the caravan park we were talking to. we went to the point twice on our last visit and both times were very disappointing and now unfortunately we wont be back. 1st time my scampi was cremated, 1 bit I couldn't even cut with my knife, but as we loved it so much I put it down to a 1 off and didn't let it put me off. I told the staff about it when paying the bill and they couldn't have cared any less. 2nd time we went back was terrible also, the kids meals had gone from a decent size to really tiny, with the fresh chicken goujons being replaced by frozen nuggets (not what we ordered). my husband paid £20 or just over for the steak which came with not even an onion, mushroom, tobacco mushroom, a bit of dry salad on the side as an attempted garnish (lettuce and diced peppers, no sauce) and his chips. I ordered a chicken dish with mash, and asked if I could have any type of vegetable with mine and not salad as salad doesn't go with mash potatoes, but i received the same dry pathetic looking salad. I again reported this to a waitress and she said she'd have a word with the chef. She returned to say 'the chef said do you want a few extra chips for the kids?' ahhhh no, how about discounting our cost as all 4 meals are pathetic, or atleast compensating us in a way more than a few extra chips. I am very sad to say we won't be back. we are going to benone today again for a week and we will not be making any journeys to the Point.... Thanks Point Bar and Restaurant, it was good for a while but sadly we'll not be back. Bit of advice, listen to what your customers want, if you dont then over time you'll see the drop in...

Folks, only giving this a one star as I want to share our experience.

We are literally just out of the restaurant and we are appalled by the service. As we have been coming here for a while as we stay down here in summer months, we arrived today at a table booking for 15:30. We were brought down to our table (not asked did we want a drink) and sat for approx 15 minutes looking at a menu before being approached by a member of staff to take our order. After placing our order, we then sat for a further hour waiting and I decided to go and ask as the people beside us was wondering what was going on also. At this stage I had 2 drinks and I went to the manager and explained that I would pay the bill for the drinks and go elsewhere and I got an apology as one of the ‘new starts’ misplaced our order docket. So we ordered our food and the waitress that originally took our order came down and apologised and put the blame on someone else. At this stage I said don’t worry and I ordered another drink with her and she said don’t worry, I’ll get this drink for you.

We were then approached by a waitress asking did we want desert, well a further 10/15 minutes past and still no menu left. When my other half went and asked for a desert menu she was told by the waitress ‘this isn’t your day is it’.

We decided enough was enough and avoided desert and went to pay the bill and we were told one drink was being deducted for our troubles. Yes one pint.

I paid the bill and spoke to the manager in the reception area and explained the situation as he was the one himself that said the rounds of drink prior to this would be excluded to be simply told, ‘I’m sorry about that’. More or less bye.

The sickening thing is the food is good, however service is atrocious.

My money can be...
