Review relates to sit in Sunday carvery. I would recommend reserving in advance as it is quite busy. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. You are seated at a table and offered options on the set menu e.g. one course, two course or three. On two visits we have opted for two course, starter and main. On both occasions we have had soup to start, vegetable (lets just say soup of the day, usually means vegetable), the soup on both occasions was great, better on second visit as it wasn't blended and had chunky veg (my preference), but it shows that the chef's change it up 👍 in my book. As for the main, the waiting staff will call to your table and let you know when to go up for your carvery selection....somewhat self service, but carvery style. Do not take that as negative.....lets just say.... don't make my mistake and ask for everything. They do not skimp on portions. Serving staff are also very friendly ...i got asked on multiple occasions if i needed anything while eating, when there for lunch today. I would very much recommend. 3 stars for atmosphere being due to it being a little louder than i would prefer, and being seated next to a drafty entrance on first visit. Take out options also available, but do not compare to dine in (take out is the cash and carry meat parcel...
Read moreWell out of Order: Sunday 19 May 24 We revisited here as we have done many times over the year. This time we arrived at 4:30 and had to wait for the Evening menu to start at 5:00. We made our way through to the restaurant where we were ushered to a table in the centre where no one else were sitting, we asked for a better table but the manageress flatly refused stating that the restaurant was fully booked? We asked for the special menu and chose the steak option, which arrived well on time and was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Then a waitress decided to open a fire exit as she was “hot”, this resulted in a cold wind blowing through to where we sat. I called the waitress and told her to close the door, she swore as she walked away to the door. I decided not to make a fuss as we were enjoying the food. But we were ignored by the waitresses and manageress until we paid the bill. The manager said that the waitresses was only joking and that was about all she said on the matter. We think that front of house staff need retraining in manners and respect. But the food was excellent, So we didn’t...
Read moreWhat a fantastic Sunday carvery! The three-course meal was an absolute steal for the price, and the food and service were both brilliant.
For starters, I had the delicious garlic bread with a lovely side salad, while my friend had the fish cakes with an amazing peanut sauce.
The main course was just as impressive—I enjoyed a generous portion of turkey and ham, and my friend’s plate was loaded with roast beef and ham. The roasties, and sides where also amazing. Definitely hats off to the chef that cooks in here.
We were too full for dessert, but they looked incredible. If you're traveling through Ballykelly, this place is a must-visit. I know that we will absolutely be back here and be telling all our friends about this little gem...
