Just wanted a few quick takeaway sandwiches for the family. Place wasn’t overly busy for 2:00pm on a Saturday afternoon. Two staff in evidence; one at the till and another waiting/ bussing tables. There was a lady at the counter who obviously knew the staff member there as they were so engrossed in conversation that I eventually had to leave without having an opportunity to place an order. I have no objection to staff having friendly relations with customers. It makes service businesses work and is essential to their reputation. There are limits though and this staff member seemed to be unwilling or unable to balance this with basic customer service. The staff member did not acknowledge me despite being aware of my presence and increasingly annoyed nonverbals. The conversation stretched on and still the staff member ignored my desire to order regardless of them being aware that I was getting increasingly annoyed. He could easily have paused his conversation, taken my order and continued to catch up with his friend but I guess some people can’t prioritise tasks. The other staff member did produce an order pad at one point and look at me but seemed confused and unclear as to whether his colleague was dealing with me. Discretion being the better part of valour he put his pad away and wandered off to look after the seated customers. If this cafe is primarily focused on seated dinners and unable to meet the needs of those who only want to takeaway please, take the sign off the door and we’ll go elsewhere ( as I had to), and leave you to you...
Read moreFabulous little place. Coffee was really good, well priced, not expensive. Service was excellent. Very good facilities for babies and toddlers. I was very impressed by the parent and baby room especially. Emergency provisions stocked on shelf of changing unit. Nappies, nappy sacks, bepanthem, even muslin cloth and disposable breast pads! Comfortable chair to nurse in too. Star decorations on ceiling to occupy baby while changing. Bottle warmer too rather than the precarious jug of boiled water. Toddler corner with soft padded flooring, play kitchen, toddler bookcase, small toys like trucks etc. Will most...
Read moreThe village kitchen is a nice wee spot that gets quite a busy wee place, however, the place I want to pick up on is related to the owner, & that's the little bake shop, on FB, she's in the Bangor area, & I've used Pauline on a couple of my son's milestone birthdays, this 1 was for his 21st, & it was a gluten free option. Some beautiful cupcakes done for him, at very short notice, but she went above & beyond to do this for us, she is terrific at what she does. Very approachable. Definitely check this 1 out if your in need of celebration cake, cupcakes, or for the...
