Cherry Tree — Restaurant in Norwich

Came here to eat and ordered from the festive set menu. Staff complained to us that they had only received our order today despite us emailing a month prior, and again a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a burger and asked for cheddar instead of brie & meat to be well done, explaining that this is because I am pregnant.

When the food arrived, it wasn’t edible. The chips were drenched in grease and the burger had been massively over-cooked to the point where it was rock hard. I politely asked the waitress if I could send this back and have something else (nachos as these are quick and easy).

The waitress was very dismissive however agreed to ask the kitchen. Shortly after, a member of staff came over to me, still unsure whether she was the chef or manager. She stood over me, raised her voice at me and said that I had “asked for the burger to be cooked like this” I again explained I am not able to eat the meal and just wanted something else, no fuss. She then said me and my friends did not pay a deposit (despite staff telling my friend not to worry earlier today as we would just pay this before we left). She also said they had no idea we were even coming until today. At this point I’m in complete shock and asking her not speak to me like this, she took the food and from that point on the waitress and manager no longer served us. The waitress had seen me crying in response to this treatment, however nothing was done, no apology was made.

As we left, they both perked up and prepared our bill. Despite having ample chance here to apologise or offer compensation this did not happen.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the cherry tree, and I can't rave enough about this cozy little gem! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Now, let's talk about the food absolutely fantastic! The menu is perfectly balanced, offering everything from comforting pub classics to more exciting, unique dishes. I had the beef lasagna , and it was mouthwateringly deliciousperfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The portion size was generous, and you could tell that everything was made with care and fresh ingredients.

The drinks menu was also on point, with a great selection of local brews and classic cocktails. Whether you’re after a pint or something a bit fancier, they’ve got you covered.

The vibe at the cherry tree is laid-back and welcoming, making it a great spot for everything from a casual meal with friends to a relaxing night out. I can’t wait to return for another great experience!

Visited Wednesday evening with a few friends, had never visited before but the menu sounded amazing and affordable also accommodating my allergy to milk! I chose to have the vegan lasagne! However when it came out, it looked to me like it was covered with cheese , luckily before eating it I asked the waitress to double check (she was lovely) and it was found that the chef had put actual cheese on top of a vegan and milk allergys plate! If I had eaten that lasagne that could be fatal so luckily i noticed as no one else did! Working in this industry myself I know mistakes happen but please for your sake extra care with allergies, it can mean life and death!! Thank you to the waitress who gave great customer service!
