An honest review, take into account that this is a chain pub, we had a poor prior experience a year ago with drinks (dirty glasses and cloudy water) but decided to give this a go. The meat was good, well portioned... The Yorkshires were ok, nothing mind blowing but fit the bill, a bit tough if anything but that's solved with gravy... The veg was an interesting one, the carrots *chefs kiss* the broccoli however, mush... The stuffing was amazing, beats Toby carvery personally speaking... The roasties are frozen, the mash was strange too but still nice... Honestly it was a nice carvery, just important to clear up that this isn't a replacement for TC but is still good for the price. The staff were amazing too, the table was clean etc, they are one of the nicer green king pubs I've been to, will probably see myself in there again soon :)

I visited this place for the first time to celebrate my friend's birthday 3 weeks ago. The food was delicious, the best Carvery I have ever tried, the atmosphere there is really nice and Adriana who was looking after our table is such a nice and positive person, she made the whole experience even better. me and my friends going to have a dinner there tomorrow to celebrate another birthday - I would highly recommend this place to everyone- this is my favorite place now ;)

The Love Carvery at Longshoot never fails to impress with its consistently hot, delicious food and wide array of choices. The staff is friendly, although the nature of the carvery means it's more of a self-serve experience with minimal table service. The premises offer free parking, including spaces for disabled visitors. It's worth noting that the restaurant can get quite busy, particularly on Thursdays for quiz nights and Sundays for the beloved Sunday roast dinners.

Booked in for an evening meal here while staying at a local hotel to pick up my new car the following morning. Booked online on the Greene King website. Walked in to a nice welcome and all the Covid safety measures were in place including a one way system, hand sanitisers and all the staff were wearing face coverings. I was shown to my table and the service was really friendly and prompt from a waitress called Rachael....all the other staff were also lovely and friendly. I ordered a beer and decided on the carvery.....it must be really hard trying to serve a carvery in these strange times but the staff coped well. Using a ticket which was shown to the chef through a perspex screen...you choose what meats and vegetables you wanted. He added your portions to you plate from behind the screen.....you picked up the full plate at the end of the serving area through a gap in the perspex screen. Food was excellent....I had Turkey and Gammon with roast potatoes ,cauliflower cheese ,broccoli, red cabbage.Yorkshire pudding with lashing of gravy and cranberry sauce. It was delicious...!!! I have Bakewell Cheesecake with Vanilla ice cream for dessert which was also very tasty. I really enjoyed my evening here....staff,food and service was excellent. I would recommend and...

My wife likes the carvery — a lot — she's been a few times with friends. She chose this eatery for our meal out after I'd been away a few days. She had the carvery this time, said it was good, and ate everything on her plate.

I chose the mini mixed grill, which was mixed; in enjoyment and disappointment. The egg was great, white all set and the yoke hot but still runny. The gammon was nicely well-done. There was plenty of food and it all looked delicious.

The chicken was watery, the sausages pasty (and left a waxy after-feel in the mouth), the chips were fairly crisp outside and fluffy inside — but dry in the chewing. I left most of my plate.

I didn't complain at the time, because it was clear that this was the regular fare — yet I know that lots of places serve better quality sausages and chicken at comparable prices.

Would I go back? Yes, but mainly to oblige my better half; and I would have the carvery.

They have one of my pet peeves about grammar in the menu. It's NOT 'half a grilled tomato': it is a 'grilled half...
