with regret today was the worst customer service experience i have ever had. we are regular visitors to this great pub and under normal management this place is fantastic, but today our food arrived in relatively normal time, however first bite and the fish was cold, then the peas were cold, then the chips were stone cold, and there were 8 chips i counted. not wanting to complain i remained quiet , as not to cause a fuss, my wife said "excuse me our food is cold", the acting manager katherine abruptly replied i`ll get a refund , i replied dont worry this time, but she was so adamant to a point i was embarrassed, because her attitude was so poor, i said just to make a point ,and lets count the chips then, there was seven, she returned and said ok now, i said not really its not the money, we got up and on the way out stopped and spoke to others, she made a point of coming over to us again and with more really bad attitude said you not happy then, you had your refund, your now free to leave. goodbye. i was so shocked in front of other regular customers then just left in disgust. i have never been treated so bad . ever., and i was with my daughter who is a large retail store manager, and she said to this manager your attitude is wrong, then this acting manager replied, like i said your free to leave as well....

Some bar staff seam to go out there way to avoid ,delay serving you. Often poring half your drink then off to serve other people. Count endless bags of change into till whilst still waiting for half your drink to be poured. Often going into clean up area not to clean but gossip. Get on phone half way through serving to talk to someone. Stand gossiping together 3 or 4 staff when only one customer waiting to be served then go through above rigmarole. This happens repeatedly. If you say anything they do it worse. Walk into empty bar they see you coming then disapear so waiting longer still. Very clicky staff need a good kick up the arse. A few staff not just good though but bloody excellent. One extreme to other. Pity good staff not in higher role to show so called im in charge prima donnas how...

Best food and best service normally !, but today everything was cold which was unusual because It arrived quickly, not wanting to complain but told kat the supervisor, was then shocked how she replied I’ll get you a refund now, but in a really bad and stroppy attitude, when she returned she slammed down the money which I would of rather had another hot meal or at least my meal reheated, we left feeling really badly treated , especially when she said “ I really don’t need this stress, so you can leave now you have had your refund. Please Tim Martin take notice of this review , the regular manager is the best customer service manager ever, I have even told him many times how good he run this pub. So please don’t let this place lose customers because of one persons...
