We were debating where to go for dinner and my wife chose here. What a fantastic decision. We had one of the best meals I've ever had in almost 50 years. The service and help we got from Abbey, Tom and Tracey were 2nd to none to start with. We got a couple of drinks to start with, reasonable price and exactly what we wanted, and bought to the table by very friendly staff. Wanting to order food, I ordered the nacho starter expecting it to be small but as I like hot sauces, I asked the barman what was available to go with my main meal. He came back and said they can do me a hot sauce with mine, so I ordered the rack of ribs and the sauce and my wife's fish and chips. The starter came out and it was the biggest and nicest bowl of nachos we've ever had with loads of dipping sauces. I must say I was stuffed after just that. But then the dinners came out. The plates were huge and looked absolutely gorgeous with stacks of food on them. Super impressive and the food was to die for. The sauce was absolutely to die for and I knew the chef had made it specially for me. Words cannot express how nice both meals were and everytime now we go to Blackpool, we are going to make a special trip back to this pub. would recommend it 1000% if you are hungry and near enough to visit it. The pictures I've posted should say it all, and it was a really good price aswell

3rd time visiting and it will be my last. Poor service mainly. Food is nothing special but for the price is okay. Did the 3 course for £11.99 for three course's. First two course was fine and out at a reasonable time, when it come to the desert we had already paid for the deal mentioned above we waited 45 minutes for someone to clear the plates from the main course (never happened) and chased up the desserts twice and on the second request we asked for two of the deserts to be boxed up as now two members of our party had to leave. 5 minutes later they come out with them on the plates. Second time requesting for it to be boxed up and waiting about 10 minutes. They had no interest in us after the mains, didn't get the apology that you would expect either! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Lovely, warm and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. I had the steak on ciabatta bread with salad on the side. Unfortunately this place has drastically taken a unwelcomed turn for the worse. As of January 2025. Took my 94 yr old neighbour out for lunch Sunday also son to watch the football ( kill 2 birds one stone scenario) I'm sad to say the food was unbeatable, infact smelt like someone had died. 3 different dishes, all were disgusting. Was so sad this was the case. Upon talking to other customers they more or less all sad the same. I will never eat here again. Put me off for GOOD. ACTUALLY this has never happened to me before.

Arrived at the pub with my friend with high expectations of a delicious meal before our hike afterwards. However, after placing the order through the app, we were soon approached like we were criminals by a rude inconsiderate female (not a lady!), who I can only assume was the duty manager as she angrily stated that she would be switching off the app. This person clearly thinks it’s ok to speak to customers like dirt, which is an utter disgrace.

Just to prove a point, this individual had printed our order, proceeded to shout at us in front of other customers, scrunched up our order and stormed off in a huff. Never have I seen anyone dare speak to customers in this way in the many pubs that I have visited over the years. Added insult was that this individual boldly and proudly stated that as we had ordered through the app, we would not be treated as priority - though, thankfully, all other staff that we had engaged with were friendly, the food was not late, and was very delicious.

It’s such a shame that such an individual has put us off permanently from visiting the pub. Sadly the way this person looked at me, I was clearly not welcome and the wrong sort that should be visiting pubs. This is very tragic as I believe that I should be able to use the Pub without being made to feel that it’s a travesty that I had dared walk into one.

In light of the above, might I suggest the following recommendations for the pub owner:

  1. Have someone near the front entrance check with every visitor whether they are eating, and if so, mention to order at the bar.
  2. Arrange for customer services training for the female manager in question.
  3. If the pub would prefer customers not to use the app, then do not spread literature around the pub encouraging customers to do so!
  4. If you’d rather not allow customers to use the app, then maybe do not be part of ember inn and become independent?

I work in a customer services role, and have worked for 20 years. Had I spoken to a customer in that time like this female did today, then quite bluntly, I would be sacked and out the door.

I hope the management take a good long look at themselves - if this continue in this way, they may find customers go elsewhere!

PS - ordering through the app is a slower more painful experience than at...

Visited for lunch with a friend without reservation & there was enough space, didn't need to ask for table & luckily the big couch by the log fire was free so felt really comfortable & warm. The menu had some vegan options & they have a tablet in the back if you have dietary requirements just tick what applies & it then shows you what is available to order. The bartender was lovely & went above & beyond to make sure dietary needs were met & even though I felt like I was being a total pain he was so patient & kind. Two waitresses also passed whilst we were there & checked everything was ok & they were really friendly - we just felt well looked after. The food was really good for the usual pub lunch & arrived quickly. Great prices too. Would definitely recommend for a lunchtime catch up. Update visited again with friends & her son at half term Wed lunch. It was quite busy and service was still quite quick, used the qr code on table to order from there which was really easy. I forgot to take pics of the food but it was really tasty. I had falafel & then apple & caramel tart with custard which was so good. They were decent sized portions esp for the child's menu they seemed huge for 7yr old and he couldn't finish them- mainly because he was too bust talking & showing me his game lol. But it's a great place to get some lunch & has free WiFi so the kids can use their tablets. It kept disconnecting yesterday for some reason but was...
