Having read positive reviews about the place, we decided to walk from the Reading City Center to the Momo house. It’s about a 50 minute walk and at various points of time, makes you wonder if you have got the directions wrong since the restaurant is in the middle of a purely residential area. It is part of a semi run down complex with 2 or 3 other occupants. The first thing we noticed when we reached the restaurant is how peaceful and serene the place was thanks to its location. The place is small and cozy and gives you a very warm vibe. I’m guessing the restaurant has its local regulars since the guests dining there all seemed to know the owner. Going with the name- we ordered the vegetarian Momos and a nepalese thali. The Momos were delicious with the right thickness of the wrapper and perfect balance of filling. Unlike other vegetarian momos which are normally filled with excessive cabbage, these had broccoli and paneer and you can feel the freshness in the bite. The thali came with a soft fluffy mini naan, dal, mixed vegetable, chicken curry and rice. Everything tasted good, but the dal stood out. The portions are limited and the extra bread we ordered was chargeable. Although slightly on the higher side in terms of prices, the food is delicious and the place itself...

Momo House is our go-to spot whenever we need a comforting meal that feels like home. The warm and inviting atmosphere, paired with the friendly nature of the owner and all their staff, always lifts our spirits. Special mention to Priya one of the lovely staff here. Their thukpa is absolutely delicious - perfectly warming and full of flavor. We always leave feeling refreshed and content.

The food here is top-notch, and their set menu offers fantastic value for the price. The Momo House Special Fried Rice is a must-try, bursting with taste, and their freshly made momos are simply the best.

Momo House has become like a second kitchen to us - an authentic, cozy place where we can enjoy homemade food with a personal touch. We’ve brought many of our friends here, and they all love it just as much. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Nepali cuisine and a welcoming,...

Momo House brands itself as serving authentic Nepalese food - from what I could tell, the dishes it provides are not only authentic, but delicious, high-quality and amazing value for money. I was most pleased with the vegetarian momos and the chutney provided along with them. As someone who prefers meat-filled dumplings and is not particularly tolerant of spice, this combination is hands-down the best vegetarian dish I've eaten all month.

The staff are very friendly and open, but also efficient. Our starters were ready within ten minutes of us ordering them, and our main courses came directly after. The service in this restaurant is impeccable.

Overall, this is a place I will definitely be coming back to, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to taste authentic...

Small and very friendly restaurant. I've been there today just after 6pm to have a dinner. Usually I have a nice dishes here but today I'm a bit disappointed with my order. I order has a starter; prawns but I can't even remember the full name. I get 4 king Prawns with raw salad, but I can't get any flavour on it? Anyways...as a main, I ordered Himalayan Seafood with rice but I have to say this dish have everything except Seafood 😔 I even ask to the waiter if I get the right main because I couldn't find a single prawn. Just sauce and sauce... a bit of Squid and few mussels. For dessert, I ordered a walnut ice cream and I have to say, was delicious. I hope to be more lucky with my order next time? Cheers 🍻

I visited The Momo House on two occasions and tried a variety of dishes — momo, chicken fried rice, Nepali thali, bhuna chicken, and rice. Everything was delicious and full of flavour. The momo were fresh and well-seasoned, the fried rice had a great wok taste, and the Nepali thali was a real highlight — hearty and authentic. The bhuna chicken was rich and satisfying, pairing perfectly with the rice. The owner and staff were very friendly, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A great spot for comforting, tasty Nepalese food — I’ll definitely be coming back!
