This pub has pretty much 5 star reviews, and they are very well deserved. I went there over this weekend, 20 August 2018, for lunch, with a friend of mine. It was 1pm and the main restaurant was very full, so we opted to sit at a table in the main bar area. They found a quieter table in the main bar area for us, which we had not spotted, so that was really thoughtful of them. Now, from the service, to the food, to the waitresses and bar manager, we had an absolutely terrific time, because people were so warm, professional and friendly, without being overly intrusive, the kind of standard that would rival a 5 star London hotel, to be fair, so this review is very much deserved!! Thank you for the lovely drinks and food, and the way in which each course was served up and presented to us, showed that attention to detail had been observed to the highest of standards in their kitchen, and it made the day and us, feel truly special. I would eat at this establishment again in a heartbeat. I haven't witnessed the truly lovely manners of the staff and this kind of service, in many a year. Keep up these...

We’ve been visiting the Well House for a couple of years now, and on one occasion, we happened upon one of their garden events. The atmosphere was incredible—everyone was enjoying themselves, and there was such a vibrant, welcoming vibe. Right then and there, we looked at each other and said, “This would be the perfect place for our wedding reception.”

Within a week, the ball was rolling. We met with Sam and Jamie, and the date was booked. They were incredibly accommodating, taking all of our ideas on board and helping to ensure the planning process was smooth and never overwhelming.

On June 21st, the sun shone, the drinks flowed, and we enjoyed some absolutely delicious food and nibbles. We had the most fantastic day—the staff went above and beyond for us and our guests. It truly was a day we’ll never forget.

We can’t recommend the Well House highly enough under the amazing stewardship of Jamie and Sam. If you’re looking for a venue for your next celebration, look no further.

Extremely poor service and cheap upgrade.

The pub has had a facelift in the garden. Very poor quality coarse hardcore (not really gravel) terracing replaces what was a beautiful English pub garden. Check out the review of this place by others, it's all about the garden. What we now have is a cheap terrace just designed for capacity. If that wasn't bad enough it took us several attempts to even park, as the car park was overfilled and overflowing into the road making it dangerous for passing vehicles.

Once in, the main entrance was blocked by a large van (see picture), making it difficult for disabled people to get into the pub. Lastly, we waited for ages to be served (despite telling staff we had arrived - and the table number) and left after a considerable wait. Simply anot good enough on a number of fronts.

I am actually considering reporting the car park issue as I believe it was dangerous to traffic in the road with the queue of cars trying to get in and out.

What a lovely surprise to find this gorgeous country pub. The garden is delightful and I am sure very popular in the summer. From the car park, you are led down a pathway lit by twinkly lights, very pretty. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and seated in the cosy restaurant. The food was amazing! It was the best pie I have ever had and my partner really enjoyed the burger. The prices are very reasonable too. This place is an absolute hidden gem, definitely our favourite, we will return! Thank you so much for such a lovely experience. 12/10! Highly recommended.
