We had an anniversary lunch of homemade hot crusty meat pies, mash and veg. Everything made by Tim in his kitchen at the tea room. Everything was absolutely lovely, including our host. If you can get past security and pass the interview, Friday pie-day is a must! Don't forget to lick your plates, or there'll be trouble😉

We were a group of 10 cyclist and we popped in for a sandwich and a coffee. The sandwiches were brilliant as was the coffee and cakes. A brilliant little place in a brilliant setting. 👍

Proprietor Tim took pity on me, having no ready cash to hand, trusting me to make a bank transfer, which I duly did that evening. More Tims in this world would not go amiss. Thanks Tim

We have never met a more miserable man. We entered the Post Office/cafe and the man in the kitchen just stared at us and kept on eating. We crept into the tea room and he came out eating and we thought we must be invisible as he appeared not to want to speak to us. I jokingly said "having your lunch?" He snapped back "yeah". We asked if we could have tea for one plus one boiling water and two fruit scones with butter and jam and could we eat out in the garden as it was such a lovely day. He snapped back "But I will have to open the hatch, you could sit in the cafe". I stated that we would prefer to sit outside in the sunshine. Whilst he was preparing the drinks and scones he started to sing loudly, "So I'll have to open my hatch". We couldn't believe our ears as we felt this was quite rude. He said we could eat out in the garden, where there was three tables with chairs set up, as long as we brought the tray back and then stated he would have to put the dishes into the dishwasher which was just one more job to do. We enjoyed our drinks and scones. The crockery was nice and clean but is this man in the business of making money or does he just want to scare off any future customers. I was aghast that I was also charged the full price of a cup of tea for just a cup of hot water. I have never been charged before over the past many years but that is all I drink. The scone was very nice, light and fluffy. Made us laugh how anyone in business could be so grumpy especially in such a pretty village as...

Very nice village in a quiet location a comfortable distance from the busy main road. Houses are all oldish and different. Plenty of history and a very good illustrated book on the village. Shop and tearoom excellent. Tim is so helpful and obliging and nothing is too much trouble. I saw his Christmas lunch menu Nd it is unbelievable. How can he possibly cater for up to 20 or more people and choice of 6 main couses as well as large range of starters and desserts. He is a true professional chef. Give him a try and you...

The Best Pork Sandwich Ever. Having struggled to find a tea room/ cafe/garden centre with refreshments we stumbled across this place, only serving take aways at the moment, but what an amazing sandwich, I had pork stuffing and apple sauce, hubby ( who is really fussy) had ham lettuce and tomato. Both were very fresh, meat was tender....
