Came upon this pub by accident whilst on holiday in the area. So pleased we did as what a little Gem of a place. Stopped off for a drink and some food on Friday and discovered it was fishy Friday so had fish and chips and it was so delicious we knew we had to return. When got back to our caravan decided to give them a ring and book in for Sunday lunch as it was out Ruby Wedding Anniversary. It was a bank holiday weekend and was very busy so pleased we booked it. The food was amazing Roast Lamb for me and Roast Beef for Hubby. It was one of the best roasts we have ever had and tasted delicious. Had to have a dessert and once again it was superb. Chocolate chip and mint cake for me and sticky toffee pudding for Hubby. The atmosphere and all the staff are incredibly friendly and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a Sunday (or any other day ) afternoon. Will definitely be visiting again next time we are down that way and cannot recommend the...

An individual and comfortable pub, beautifully decorated with interesting decor. Food is excellent and freshly prepared and served by very efficient and pleasant staff. Better to book at busy times as it deservedly gets fully booked in advance. Outside seating as well. Today had the cauliflower starter/appetiser with cheesy dip and traditional Sunday Roast dinners together with a children's meal all of which were very tasty. They do an adults portion for those with a smaller appetite which is a brilliant idea as it caters for those with small appetites without feeling guilty by wasting food. Puddings are delicious and home made. On a previous visit had Sticky Toffee Pudding home made and straight out of the oven. Delish! Our Grandson had the Paythorne Fruit Mess Ice Cream - as an Ice Cream officianado he gave it the thumbs up see attached photo. Would we...

I can’t recommend this place enough!! I was doing the Yorkshire three peaks on Saturday morning and was on my way to the hotel and was looking for a place to have tea. I honestly can’t believe how lucky so feel to have found this amazing place. The restaurant was full when I arrived but the staff still found me a table and made me feel like so welcome, just like a local. I had the lamb hotpot with extra chips and wow it was just perfect, freshly home made and delicious. I upped the carbs and also had a jam roly poly pudding with custard. I had a good chat with the waitress there who even sponsored me on the hike. Managed to do it in 11 hours and honestly so glad for the support.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Buck, your staff are a...

Your want to keep this one quiet for yourself , a really nice country pub/restaurant nice & bright inside , warmed from log burners either end & the occasional smell of wood smoke when a fresh logs added . Great vfm food , I commend the cauliflower & cheese dip starter followed by the tasty main dish . Served by cheerful , helpfull staff who go out their way to make you feel comfortable . Its best to reserve a table as it can gets very busy, in the summer but well worth the trip out into the Forest of Bowland countryside
