One night stay as we were at a wedding reception down the road.|What a refreshing change. This is a small but traditional pub on the hill above Langho.|We stayed one night in one of the rooms, that was what you expect in an old country pub. Compact but well appointed, with everything you need and a clean and fresh en-suite.|Extensive views over the surrounding countryside, with a few seats out front and a lovely beer garden at the back, which is sheltered, but enjoys the same views.|We booked a meal as the pub is very busy in the evenings and all tables were occupied.|The menu is varied and the food excellent. This is all good ingredients home cooked and a refreshing change from the usual microwaved meals in the chains that we have become accustomed to. |After a good nights sleep we went down for a freshly prepared breakfast, which again was excellent.|The landlord and wife were very hospitable and friendly and fully invested in the business.|Cannot fault anything and would definitely stay again.|Thanks again for...

Staying in the area decided to visit The Lord Nelson for a meal, myself, hubby and our Westie.|Very friendly pub,the landlord, his wife and the punters all happy to chat, making us feel very welcome.|We ordered our meal plus two doggie sausages for our 'puppy'.|The meal arrived after a short wait,it looked fantastic although the doggy sausages looked a bit sad.|The meals did not disapoint.I had steak with mushrooms, onions and chips.Portions were generous, tasty and hot, thanks chef.Hubby had mixed grill, again generous portions, hot and very tasty.|The only complaint came from our westie, those sausages were really sad and quite tasteless, and at ยฃ2 for 1 sausage really let the experience down.We will however go there again when we are...

Stayed in the back room overlooking the beer garden and the gorgeous countryside. Fantastic view. Room had everything I needed. Very clean and comfortable. Bed was extremely comfortable. THE BREAKFAST WAS INCREDIBLE. The nicest breakfast Iโ€™ve ever had cooked for me by anyone. Darren the Landlord is brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The pub itself is cosy and also has Sky Sports

Good selection of beers and wine ๐Ÿท and the menu is full of a selection of homecooked food ๐Ÿฒ that was delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹. Nice bar area with rooms at the side set out for eating, seating area at the front and large ๐Ÿป garden at the back ๐Ÿ”™. Very good experience and will definitely be back soon. We did come back for a Thursday evening dinner and enjoyed every bit of it. Just wish we lived down the road.

Booked a large table (20) with friends (& kids & dogs) on New Yearโ€™s Eve. We booked a few weeks in advance. Nothing was too much trouble, they looked after us very well on such a busy day. Chilled out atmosphere, nice fire and perfect pub food (best cheese pie!). Good walk loops from the pub too. Great pub and people.
