The Custom Café — Restaurant in Rother

Visited on a Saturday lunch time, the host gave us menus but no mention of vegetarian or GF as every other table that walked in after us ( we were sat by the door). Ordered within 10min and got drinks quite promptly,received food and I have to say portions were quite large but this is a case where quantity does not mean quality. I had an all day breakfast, one egg was cooked perfectly the other was over cooked and rubbery,the mushrooms were boiled,no flavour whatsoever, the bacon was cold but really good alongside the sausages,quite flavoursome in my opinion to be in the children's menu but I like them. My husband had a burger, the meat itself you could tell was good but the cheap sauces that topped the burger destroyed what could have been a delicious burger. The chips were very poor quality and tasted like the oil could do with a change. We had ketchup and mayo and again you could tell these were cheap sauces. Onto the service, despite having loads of servers on everything took longer than necessary,servers were more interested about discussing Friday night outings and going with the kitchen to dance and use swear words ( and yes I could hear it from the front door), a table behind us had a dog and 2 of the waitresses petted said dog and proceeded to take an order and the other grabbing food from the kitchen to a table without washing their hands... This is a place we have been driving past for a while and always wanted to visit as it looks cool and does actually have some good review....I will definitely not going back neither will I recommend it as it was really...

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Ordered our breakfast, paying in advance, and receiving what we thought were some our drinks (we later realised were meant for another table) after waiting half an hour for the rest we went up to see what happened. A young waitress apologised profusely and said we get a discount, got our drinks out and said our food would be shortly. An hour and 10 minutes since ordering one of the waitresses that we’d seen multiple times finally realised we still hadn’t got our food. We then had to go inside to find out what was taking so long to be told that we had been warned upon arrival that there would be a 40 minute wait (but we hadn’t else we would have left it) but our food would be 5-10 minutes more. Then the owner came out. Never once apologised for our wait just offered us more drinks and said it wasn’t personal she got very defensive when we tried to ask what had happened. Shouted at us and then left to bring out our food in stages which was disappointing at best. The sausages weren’t even cooked properly which she denied when we brought this up when trying to get some money back and she was reluctant to do so. We weren’t the only table affected either. A couple near us had to wait over an hour too and a family near by had their food bought out individually over 10 minutes. Needless to say will definitely not...

I rode down to Custom Cafe recently. My rating considers a few things that are important to me and things that I ensure my customers receive when they come to my dental practice: Plenty of parking Basically you wait to be seated, look at the menu and then go to the till to order. Friendly atmosphere from customers and staff with interaction from staff and all the friendly people around you. Food quality: Freshly prepared and well presented. Tastes really good although even sausages were vegetarian. Halal/Kosher Food options : Very considerate to vegan and vegetarian options but not Kosher or halal option. So much so that the waitress reassured me it’s all prepared completely separate to the meat dishes and that she was equally fussy, being a vegetarian herself. It looked so good (or maybe I looked like I enjoyed it so much), that the lady at the next table asked me what I ordered as it looked really good and she ordered the same. Atmosphere: Family orientated, and chilled out happy environment (being a Sunday morning breakfast, I suppose). Live music with a very pleasant voice of some familiar songs. Biker friendly: The waitress took our helmets and placed them on a special helmet and coat shelf. Toilets: Clean and presentable. Well maintained with some nice touches/humour...
