Walked into the pub yesterday evening was greeted by what seemed to be friendly staff and was served 2 double vodkas and orange juice, paid 20 odd pound for them, sat down happily enjoyed the atmosphere. I proceeded to ask one of the staff members who turns out to be the land lord to charge my mrs phone, he agreed and did that for me. 15 mins rolled by I needed to charge my phone which was the device id be paying on so needed to charge it up to buy another round of drinks in this lovely pub, to which I ask the land lord is it ok to stick mine on now and to which he said no I only said one phone can be charged as if I was taking the piss out of using a bit of electricity. I told him I’m trying to buy another round of drinks I need charge to pay do you want my custom or not? He seemed puzzled as if I was asking the world of him or if I was asking him to move a mountain. One of his bar maids piped up and said “ watch how you speak to people he’s the landlord I’ll have you know” as if to put the man on a pedestal as if he’s better than everyone else when I’m the customer paying their wages for the evening. I told them what I thought of there attitude towards me they didn’t seem to like it so I left. Shame really nice pub just backward people, deffiently shouldn’t be in the hospitality business, won’t go back and deffo wouldn’t recommend to...
Read moreI visited the three oaks pub as a meeting point with my sister on a trip down memory lane. We had lived on a farm nearby and wanted to see the changes, also our grandparent ran a shop that was opposite the pub end of the terrace near phone box. The pub was there in the early 50’s when we born. The hospitality was brilliant all Covid clean. Large choice of food they also do a lunch menu for £8.99 Which two had, my husband had his favourite liver and I had some lovely smoked haddock and mozzarella fish cake. Large portions. Would love another visit maybe in the future live in Rustington so maybe.
Everything looked so small now, I had to remember I’d only been 5-6 at the time and once we go to the farm the distance I had to walk to main road to get to school well they wouldn’t walk it now.
All in all a...
Read moreWe were driving back from Camber to Bexhill with our dogs and fancied a pub lunch. We drove past The Three Oaks and thought we would try it. We are so glad we did .. what a fantastic pub this is.... Decent size, doggy friendly, my very favourite 'oldy worldy' type pub with wooden beams and a real fire, that was roaring!!!!
Best of all was the food .... We have never seen portions like this and the quality of the food was excellent..... Plus they serve my absolute favourite Liver!!!!
We are so happy we found this pub as we will most definitely be back... The food was out of this world, nice pint of Guinness, and the perfect spot, especially as the weather closes in so you can cosy up by the fire. Wonderful and the kind of pub we both love....
