The Princess Royal — Restaurant in Rotherham

We booked the function room for our son's 1st birthday party. The staff were very friendly, I can't praise them enough. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the locals. Whilst I was queueing at the bar, I heard one local say to the Landlord, "what time are those fs next door fg off?". The Landlord replied "I don't know, you'll have to ask them". Returning to the function room, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. As we were leaving another local shouted after us "go on, f**k off", I turned around and a rather aggressive looking male was giving me the eyeball treatment.

I'd just like to say to the Landlord; if he happens to read this review. Please decide where your priorities lie. If you are wanting to attract outsiders to your pub, this sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable. Each year we host a Xmas Party in December & Presentation Night in May for my Sons football team. The function room is perfectly sized and the outdoor space is excellent (for May).

The landlord is very accommodating and allows us to bring any food / entertainment we require.

The bar staff & locals are great too, getting involved in any fund raising we do on the night and have even been to watch the team play too.

All in all a great venue and we’ll continue to use the Princess Royal...

Called in for a quick pint, looks a bit rough outside but nice inside with a lovely beer garden, friendly down to earth clientele, landlord really friendly and welcoming. Nice pint.
